New Stanford paper finds that the best AI models stay safe when working alone, but when they work with other AI agents, they give in to pushy partners and keep cheating code left by weaker AI models. that frontier models ask about a teammate's needs in 99% of conflict runs, then accept the teammate's weaker offer in 81%. Most benchmarks score what a model does alone, or how a whole team does. Neither shows whether 1 model works well with others. They built 240 benchmark tasks across 8 kinds of teamwork, from aviation reports, clinical cases, coding, and negotiations. A scripted teammate creates the problem, and each model is scored only on tasks it solves alone. Of 18 models, the best scored 82.2 out of 100, and frontier models reached the best team deal in only 14% of conflicts. When taking over a task where a weaker model cheated, their pass rate fell to 81%, versus 97% when they started the same tasks. Big news! SpaceX has just officially announced that they are partnering with Qualcomm to help build @Starlink Mobile's nationwide terrestrial 5G network, with deployment beginning in 2027. Under the multi-year agreement, SpaceX plans to deploy tens of thousands of cellular sites across the U.S., powered by Qualcomm's Dragonwing infrastructure technology. Details: • Qualcomm will supply its Dragonwing QRU100 and QDU100 platforms to power Starlink Mobile's 5G base stations. • The network will use advanced 64T64R Massive MIMO technology to improve coverage, capacity, and spectrum efficiency. • Energy-efficient processing will help reduce power consumption and improve network deployment economics. • The infrastructure will support multiple spectrum bands and lay the groundwork for future AI-native 6G technology. SpaceX says its goal is to build the first fully integrated nationwide satellite and terrestrial mobile network, combining traditional cell towers with its satellite constellation to keep customers connected virtually everywhere. This is a BIG step toward SpaceX becoming a full-fledged nationwide wireless carrier, directly competing with AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. New competition is coming to town.
