#TypeScript 7 was announced a few days ago and I’m genuinely excited about it. They rebuilt the compiler in Go and it’s much faster now. Finally some relief on big projects. Worth checking out: devblogs.microsoft.com/types… #TS7

Finally, HTTP has a proper QUERY method. Safe + idempotent like GET, but with a real request body like POST. No more cramming complex JSON into query strings or abusing POST for reads! This will clean up APIs, caching, and semantics. #HTTP #WebDev #APIs #Backend #HTTPQUERY

I’d rather call useReducer. Then I can assure that prevCategory is set when category changes without setting state in render. I consider useReducer or a unified state object when I see multiple set state calls in a row.
reminder that it's okay to set state directly inside the function body if you know what you're doing

PostgreSQL 18 Beta 2 is solid! Async I/O delivers ~2–3× faster reads, native UUIDv7 for sortable IDs, virtual generated columns, SQL-standard JSON_TABLE, OAuth 2.0 auth, and more performance tweaks. #PostgreSQL #Database #fullstackdeveloper

CSS now supports if() for inline conditionals! Style dynamically with style(), media(), or supports() queries. Example: `color: if(style(--theme: dark): #fff; else: #000);` Available in Chrome 137+.

To programmatically detect whether the current browser supports a CSS declaration, `CSS.supports(property, value)` works well. But how can you check if the browser supports a given media query, regardless of whether the query currently matches? Elegant solution by Oriol Brufau:

#vibecoding has become a virus for long term productivity and scalability with incompetent people entering software engineering roles. due to their lack of real context, it's really important to use #LLM based #AI responsibly and not too often to boost productivity not tank it!
