Replying to @httpsean_ca @TrybeUGC
Congratulations! I joined you with this brand in August and have loved working with you. You’re so supportive, always there to answer questions, and you genuinely care about helping creators succeed. Having weekly calls and someone who understands both sides makes such a difference. So well deserved!

If you are using AI avatars in your ad creatives in the US, you're going to want to pay attention👇
As Of December 11th, 2025: Legislation S.8420-A/A.8887-B Requires Individuals Who Produce or Create Advertisements To Disclose if AI-Generated Synthetic Performers are Used
The New York State Governor signed this first-in-the-nation legislation to protect consumers and boost AI transparency. It requires persons who produce or create an advertisement to identify if it includes AI generated synthetic performers.
New York’s General Business Law to require that any commercial ad featuring a synthetic performer must include a conspicuous notice that the performer is synthetic, with civil penalties for non-compliance ($1,000 for a first violation and $5,000 for subsequent violations)
I don't use AI creators in any of my ads so not an issue for me 😁
So what does this mean for you? In the short term, you can exclude NY from your campaigns featuring AI creators. Or a more sustainable long-term solution: strongly consider becoming compliant by adding disclaimers as I expect many states to follow suit.

Most marketers think BFCM is about convincing people they need your product. Wrong. By November, people are already primed to buy.
They’re not asking “do I need this?” They’re asking “is this worth grabbing while it’s discounted?” Your ads should match that. Quick, urgent, proof-driven creatives beat long education every time.

Most ads flop because they treat every audience the same.
A 22-year-old college student and a 42-year-old mom might both buy your product… but they do not buy for the same reason. If you run one generic ad, you will connect with neither.
Here is how it should look 👇🏻
👉🏻 For a college student: focus on identity and belonging. Show the product in social settings, tie it to trends, and highlight how it makes them feel part of the moment. Example: skincare framed as “the glow everyone’s talking about on campus.”
👉🏻 For a 42-year-old mom: focus on trust, reliability, and family benefit. Highlight convenience, safety, or value. Example: skincare framed as “finally, a routine that works while you juggle a million things.”
Psychology explains this.
Young audiences respond to status and peer validation (social proof, trends, aspirational identity).
Parents or professionals respond to loss aversion and practicality (time-saving, risk-free, dependable).
When you speak directly to someone’s stage of life and psychology, your ad no longer feels like noise. It feels like relevance.
The takeaway: the offer can be the same, but the angle must shift. The best brands create different ads for different buyers. The worst brands keep recycling one safe creative and wonder why results stall.

If you’ve ever felt behind as a creator, read this.
You’re not late. You’re not failing. You’re just early in your story.
Everyone you look up to once posted to an audience of zero.
They doubted themselves. They questioned if it was worth it.
They probably almost quit too.
What separates the ones who made it from the ones who stopped isn’t talent. It’s consistency, humility, and a willingness to get better every time.
So keep learning. Keep refining. Keep showing up even when it feels slow.
Every video you post is a rep. Every campaign you do is a lesson. Every rejection is redirection.
You’re not supposed to have it all figured out yet.
You’re just supposed to keep going.
Because one day, someone will look at you and think,
“They make it look so easy.”
Sending lots of love this thanksgiving 🫶🏻🧡

We once tested 9 hooks for a beauty client.
The one that crushed the rest started with,
“I didn’t realize how bad my old foundation looked until I tried this.”
It worked because it activated ‘loss aversion’ - a psychological bias that makes people 2x more likely to act to avoid pain than to gain pleasure.
Your ad shouldn’t just say “this is good.”
It should say “your current solution is silently failing you.”
If people don’t feel friction with what they currently use, they won’t move.
Every great creative solves a problem that wasn’t consciously bothering them, until your ad made them aware of it.

Tactic: Offer Justification via Reverse Context
Instead of “30% off,” try:
👉“We lowered it so you could stop waiting.”
👉“Half of our price doubts came from us, so we dropped it.”
👉“Use this sale to finally feel like your skin is on your side again.”
We saw a DTC hair brand recently run “Because life’s too short to wait for good hair.”
That kind of emotional justification > numeric discount.

For the creators who feel invisible...
I know it sucks when you post something you’re proud of and it barely gets traction 😔
You start wondering if anyone’s even paying attention.
But trust me, they are. People notice consistency long before they say anything.
Someone’s been watching you post quietly, and one day they’ll finally reach out.
It always feels slow until it doesn’t. Keep going. 🌱

UNPOPULAR OPINION: “Hook-first” culture is killing creative thinking.
Everyone’s obsessed with the first three seconds. Yes, it is important, but the real conversion happens in seconds 4–12.
That’s where curiosity turns into belief.
You can’t just make people stop scrolling.
You have to make them decide to stay.
❌Stop thinking “what’s my hook?”
✅Start asking, “what’s my reward for keeping them hooked?”
We’ve created thousands of creatives for DTC brands - studying what actually makes people stop, watch, and buy.
If you’re ready to test smarter ideas, our DMs are open or you can book a call through the link in bio.

Every ad should answer the question: “Who do they become when they buy this?”
That’s why great ads aren’t about what a brand does, they’re about what it means.
Nike doesn’t sell shoes - it sells belief.
It’s not about running. It’s about proving something to yourself.
Glossier doesn’t sell skincare - it sells belonging.
It’s not a serum, it’s a social signal.
Liquid Death doesn’t sell water - it sells rebellion.
It’s hydration disguised as attitude.

There are COUNTLESS ways to craft holiday ads, but the two aspects I never forget are 👩🏼💻…
1. Extra hooks to keep it evergreen but targeted
2. SIMPLE language, focuse on one USP
Not all holiday ads have to scream Christmas!
Look at the structure of an upcoming health ad I’m creating👇🏻
@httpsean_ca explained it best, most people during Q4 are in buying mode
You can target a holiday angle or an evergreen angle,
But it won’t take much to push them to buy if they see the value
This health brand has products that are very scientifically complex, aka boring
So instead I told them we are going to choose just ONE USP and common ingredient to easily break things down
They always thought they had to be stuck in the holiday cycle and they didn’t know how to expand
The result???👀
• created tons of specific ads to a tailored demographic for the holidays AND evergreen content
• plugged and matched various hooks for sales, age demographics, etc.
• focused on the on the go aspect which is HUGE for holiday traveling and family events so they can use it year round
• made the product not so intimidating!!!!
During this time people don’t want to learn about new things or have to choose if they want something
Make it so easy for them to understand that they don’t have to think about it
Always will prioritize showing social proof and targeting specific audiences ✅
