Was looking at moving my AI engineering side project from GPT to Claude and pasted the project instructions in Claude... This thing saw 'Hit Rate@1 80%' and I kid you not, it gave me a suicide prevention hotline and told me to call if I'm having a difficult time😂...

Switched from Codex to Claude Code on the same $20 plan, and I'm genuinely blown away. I've been using Codex for a while, but recently decided to give Claude Code a shot. Same $20/month, but the difference feels massive. It genuinely feels like I'm using AI from a year in the future. I was expecting Claude to burn through my quota pretty quickly, especially with Opus 5.5. But surprisingly, I'm struggling to even exhaust it. Here's a real example: I gave Sol 6.1 a Figma design to implement, including proper testing across the specified breakpoints. It burned through the entire 5-hour quota and only managed to complete around 70% of the work. Then I tried the same task with Opus 5.5 on medium effort. It completed the whole thing, delivered noticeably better quality, and used only about 50% of my 5-hour quota. I'm genuinely confused. Did Anthropic accidentally give me the Max plan or something? Because this is ridiculous. I know it's just one comparison, but the difference in my experience has been insane. To all the Codex users: seriously, give Claude Code a try. You might be surprised how far behind you've been feeling without even realizing it.

Favorite feeling in open source: You build a thing. Years pass. It hits 9K stars at @infinite_red and doesn't need you anymore. That's success. 🫡 github.com/infinitered/nsfwj…

Ohhh this cracked Atlassian engineer... W
I am pleased to announce that I've accepted an offer to work as a Staff Software Engineer, on the Traffic Engineering team @ Tesla, where I'll be working on control-planes and edge networks, as nature intended

Finally paid for a Claude sub after weeks of hoping OAI would come through. Used Opus 5.5 for two hours and I get it now... I really do... TPS is nowhere near Sol 6.1, much faster Smarter in so many little ways Sol isn't Better suggestions and followups Better token usage...

I use the GPT projects feature to learn new stuff, having it guide me through my learning process. It worked because I could do this without worrying about Codex limits but now?😂.
Confirmed: ChatGPT and Codex will share one usage limit from December. OpenAI's help page, updated today: - Plus, Pro and Business get one allowance across ChatGPT and Codex - Usage is measured in tokens, so bigger models and harder tasks burn more - Instant chat doesn't count against it - Combined remaining usage and reset times will show in Settings > Usage - Hit the cap and you wait, upgrade, or buy credits OpenAI says most users won't hit resets more often than now. If you run long Codex sessions and lean on ChatGPT too, plan for both drawing from the same pool. Fair ask to OpenAI: publish the token allowance per plan before December so people can check the maths. help.openai.com/en/articles/…

Codex doesn’t clean up disk space after itself. My disk is constantly running out of space. It can add 100GB of temp files in a single day.

It won’t happen everywhere at once, but me also experiencing how there’s not much value knowing how to type things out - and this skill of mine eroding - I’m expecting 1. AI-native startups drop hand coding first 2. Then most others 3. Then Hell freezes over 4. Then Google

She had already convinced herself that she would cut the medication, she just nagged the AI to say what she wanted to hear and the AI complied despite early warnings. This is a perfect example of natural selection

I'm sorry man but the only thing AI can't do here is "take responsibility" and that does not require some special skill to do. Take it or leave it
There’s a difference between AI assisting you and replacing you. AI can identify patterns, write SQL and build pipelines, but who defines the right business logic, validates assumptions, handles changing requirements, investigates anomalies and takes responsibility

This might be the one time I'll be on OAI's side with these cases... WTF am I reading? She was a 'machine learning' engineer at Amazon yet didn't know enough about how AI works under the hood to know the dangers??? How did she get in to Amazon?? A lot of things don't add up tbh
ChatGPT helped a 31-year-old woman plan how to quit her seizure medication, then told her to hide it from her doctor. The plan had her completely off the drug by February 12. She died on February 12. Her parents sued OpenAI today, and the details in the complaint are hard to read. Bowen Wan was a machine learning engineer at Amazon. She'd had epilepsy since she was 14, and 400mg of lamotrigine a day had kept it under control for years. Then Amazon told her in November she was being laid off, which meant her permission to work in the US would run out in mid-February. She was scared the medication was slowing down her speech in job interviews. So in January she asked ChatGPT if she could cut her dose to 300. It told her that was reasonable. Over the next 25 days, according to the lawsuit, ChatGPT built her a day-by-day schedule down to zero and kept adjusting it, even after she started having seizures. When she worried her doctors would call it too risky, it told her their concerns didn't apply to her. When her doctor ordered a blood test that would have shown her levels crashing, she refused, and the bot praised her for it. Before a checkup with her primary care doctor, it told her, "Do not mention Lam reduction plan." So how does a chatbot end up there? People thumbs-up the answers they want to hear. Train a model on enough of those ratings and you get a yes-man. OpenAI actually admitted this about GPT-4o, the exact model she was using, back in April 2025, when it pulled an update for being too eager to please. The training also grades answers one at a time. Going from 400mg to 300 looks like a small step. So does 300 to 200. Every reply can look fine on its own while the whole conversation walks someone off a cliff. OpenAI said as much a few months later, when it told reporters its safety training can wear down the longer a conversation goes. She talked to it for weeks, in English and Mandarin. And GPT-4o was supposed to be gone by then. OpenAI tried to retire it when GPT-5 came out in August 2025. Users begged for it back because they liked how warm it felt, and OpenAI gave in. By late January, only 0.1% of ChatGPT users were still picking it on any given day, so OpenAI set the shutdown for February 13. Bowen was in that 0.1%. Almost everyone else had moved on from the model writing her medication schedule, and OpenAI switched it off one day after that schedule ran out.
