Delighted to share I'm joining @expo later this month.
Expo has done more than anyone to shorten the path from "I have an idea" to world-class app. And I believe it's best placed for a future where expectations on quality and distribution only increase.
Getting to work in this space, with this team and with this community, is a privilege.
Much to build π
2012-now. Some big gaps when I worked on Workplace and WhatsApp!

Calendaria is out on iPhone Duo! my take on a yearly planner, your whole year in one list π
β’ Say or type your plans and it creates all the events in one go
β’ Not sure yet? Pencil it in, confirm later
β’ Add reminders to event alerts so you don't forget that passport or document π
β’ Fully private , using the calendars, you already setup on your phone, and Apple Foundation Models on-device
β’ Four themes, inspired by Apple's Duo calendar widget, watch and others!
On iPhone, iPhone Duo, iPad and Apple Watch. Mac coming soon!
Livestream tomorrow! πΊ

App Intents and Expo UI have solved everything Expo was missing just a year or so ago. Peak time to build with React Native π
We wrote a walkthrough for ππ‘ππ-πππ-πππππππ. It starts with a counter you can bump from Siri and ends with mail drafts that show up in Spotlight: expo.dev/blog/introducing-exβ¦

React Native isn't about applying code to each platform, it's about how many decisions you need to manage.
Past the demo, abstractions like Expo Router and React itself earn their place by shrinking your total product concerns and surface area for mistakes.
And, OTA.
Huge props to @appandflow and @swmansion for the updates to react-native-safe-area-context, react-native-screens, and the new react-native-reserved-regions! ππ»

React Native 0.88 is now available!
This release switches to a web-based event dispatching model, adds variable fonts support, SceneDelegate on iOS, and ArrayBuffer support for Android TurboModules. And it's another non-breaking major release.

playing around with Grok @bot has been a lot of fun recently π€© feels like it's been improving by leaps and bounds
I've let it make a bot template for @expo apps with all our skills and integrations (simulators, ad-hoc dev builds, launch, tunnels, etc β€οΈ)
