I'd actually love to see more people building small software again.
One PHP file. A bit of HTML. Maybe SQLite. No accounts, no build process, no complicated deployment.
Just a useful little tool that does one job.
Not everything needs to become a SaaS business.

i use an old MacMini from 2014 for managing my phone, and its wild to see programs using only like 200 or 300 megabytes of RAM and everything is perfectly fine and fast
current day computers are fucking brain damaged with how much fucking memory programs use, it's intolerable

You just HAVE TO do more marketing for your products.
Here's why. My personal story.
This week I declined TWO offers for AI-related product reviews on my YouTube channel, after trying out those products.
For PRODUCT QUALITY reasons.
Seems like there's a bunch of companies selling almost-vibe-coded solutions just by pushing marketing through influencers.
And the worst part is that probably there are developers who have better solutions and better products, but they are just not doing enough marketing, so a WORSE product with money can potentially win the market share.
Pretty sad.
If you feel that your product is genuinely useful, please advertise it more because you're on a mission to save the world from AI slop competitors.

Django Developers Survey 2026
The results are wild, 34% of developers now build with HTMX!! I remember when HTMX debuted on the chart with like 5% in 2021.
Wow!! This has also caused a big surge in the number of people using SSR in Django now. I'm happy!!

this is another thing I see in academia: people don't teach tools because "we teach people how to think" but my position is that tools ARE thinking and we absolutely have to teach them how to use tools (i understand there is a balance and commercial tools are always tough, but still)
Replying to @htmx_org
I seem to remember this being a problem even when I was in school. The instructor would get half through the lesson, only for a couple of people to suddenly realize that they were lost because they didn't know how to create the file from 15 minutes ago.

It's crazy that you can migrate easily htmx2 -> htmx4 and actually not migrate a single react minor version without blowing up your entire website 😂.

After getting the opportunity to attend @BigSkyDevCon, it inspired me dive deeper into my programming journey. Today I’m starting #100daysofcode. With the help of @bootdotdev and this challenge, I’m hoping to keep myself accountable.
Day 1/100 of coding:
-learned the benefits of compiled vs interpreted language
-practiced simple loops and learned about switch statements
-learned the proper syntax for multiple parameters

I hold in my hand one of the most delightful ideas I've ever come across.
This is a real, playable Gameboy game based on the HTMX lore.
If you beat the game, you get access to the source of HTMX 4.0.
Unbelievable execution, whimsy, and craft.
Excited to announce htmx 4.0 has been released, exclusively on gameboy & gameboy color
- 4 levels
- collect pickles
- beat @WarrenInTheBuff in his slop factory to unlock the code
Enjoy!
