I used ChatGPT Codex and other generative AI tools to rebuild my old 2012 iPad game, Farmkill, into a full PC game! Farmkill Remastered launches on Steam tomorrow!
With these tools, I was able to reverse engineer the original and rebuild it from the ground up in roughly three weeks, working in my spare time alongside several other projects.
A new iPad version will follow shortly, too.
If you want to learn more, I also created a website with a playable demo, so you can try the game right now before tomorrow’s Steam launch.

For me, this project shows what becomes possible when you combine years of hands-on game development experience with AI tools. Being able to bring one of my older games back like this, while continuing work on my other projects, is pretty exciting.
Tools used: ChatGPT Codex, ElevenLabs, Suno and MiniMax.

Shigeru Miyamoto shared thoughts on generative AI and its meaning for creativity in game development.
He compared AI to the evolution of computers and design tools. As technology handles more technical work, human design sense and creative judgment grow more important.
Miyamoto distinguishes between “creating something” and “doing the work.”
Creating starts with deciding what to make, building the overall structure, and having clear intention. The work that follows fills in details, polishes, and executes the idea.
“People can become so satisfied with the work itself that they start mistaking that satisfaction for having created something good.”
Miyamoto believes AI taking over repetitive work could give people more chances to focus on what they truly want to create.
“The more AI takes care of all kinds of tasks for us, the more opportunities we all have to think seriously about what it really means to create something.”
He acknowledges AI could eventually handle almost everything in the creative process, but for now:
“I think there’s still plenty that we humans can do.”
This is a pretty dope way to revisit SNES. Imagine Chrono Trigger on this!

This is amazing and shows what would have taken a vast manual effort in the past can be done as a hobby project very efficiently. Truly a new age of gaming and software ahead.
I ported @TimSweeneyEpic's 1991 shareware PC classic, ZZT, to the Nintendo Entertainment System using Claude Code. One of the most underrated games of the '90s
ASCII art on a NES is more fun than it sounds. It runs on a standard MMC3 cart, real hardware, new soundtrack!
Replying to @Scobleizer
True.
You will be able to ask the Roadster to perform any of the tricks shown autonomously, as it will be sentient.
Also, we will have a wild looping track (crazier even than Hot Wheels) at our Texas HQ where you can test out your Roadster.

The games we've long wanted, which didn't exist because they'd cost several times more to make than they'd earn back, will soon become possible. As will the games developers wanted to build, but couldn't with the resources available. It'll be a new golden age of gaming.

MVRH is becoming a place. Worlds you step into & get lost in, each one its own thing, with plenty to do in them. Here’s a first look at a few.
This is just the beginning. A lot more worlds are coming, & they will keep getting more interesting & prettier. A few secrets are tucked in too, which I’m not going to spoil.
MVRH is its own project, separate from Multiverse engine & the game being developed on it.
More soon.

Who’s with me on Razer Mechanical keyboards? I love my Black Widow Ultimate so much and I can’t imagine using a desktop PC without one. It’s truly a beautiful experience.
I made an interactive tile map viewer for Adventure Craft’s wiki!
It uses the game’s actual pixel art and procedural generation rules. Reroll to explore different layouts, then download a high-res map image.
