If the money is supposed to stay locked until the agreement is fulfilled, something has to enforce that rule.
That's where the blockchain side of PAYD AI comes in.
The escrow funds are locked inside a smart contract on X Layer.
Think of the smart contract as the part of the system responsible for holding the funds and following the rules agreed beforehand.
Once the agreement begins, neither the creator nor the sponsor can simply take the funds whenever they want.
They stay locked until the required conditions are met.
Once the delivery is verified, the contract can release the payment.
So X Layer isn't just there because PAYD AI uses blockchain.
It's part of what makes the escrow mechanism possible:
Funds are locked.
Rules are defined.
Delivery is verified.
Payment is released.
The goal isn't to make sponsorships more complicated.
It's to make the agreement harder to break.
That's another piece of the system.

“AI-powered” sounds impressive.
But what does the AI actually do?
In PAYD AI, it isn't there to decide whether a creator's content is good or bad.
Its job is much more practical:
verifying whether the agreed delivery conditions were met.
Did the post go live?
Was it published before the deadline?
Does it contain the required tag or link?
Did it come from the correct account?
These are objective conditions that can be checked against the campaign agreement.
And that's important because payment shouldn't depend on someone simply saying:
“Yeah, the work was done.”
The system should be able to verify that the agreed conditions were actually met.
Once they are, the escrow can move to the next step.
The AI isn't replacing the agreement.
It's helping enforce it.
That's where things start getting interesting.
