During 3rd Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, I signed Agreement between @RAEB_Rwanda and @rosatom to build Small Nuclear Reactor (SMR) and Centre for Nuclear Science and Technology. Clean nuclear energy, creation of Centre for Nuclear Science and Technology, Training of Nuclear Scientists and Technical Personnel remain one of the foundational areas of cooperation between Rwanda 🇷🇼 and Russian Federation 🇷🇺. Nuclear energy, nuclear technologies for treatment of cancer, preservation of agricultural produce and mining geological surveys and mineral processing will bring direct benefits to Rwandans in health, agriculture, mining, availability of affordable electricity to each home and promotion of educational technical sciences. These technologies are key for Rwanda's development under NSTII and Vision2050. Construction Works will now soon commence in Rwanda, which will also create jobs for our youths.
🇷🇺🇷🇼 Russia's Rosatom to Assist Rwanda in Building Nuclear Infrastructure: CEO At the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit, Rosatom and the Rwanda Atomic Energy Board signed an MoU to develop nuclear infrastructure in line with IAEA standards, the Russian state corporation said. 👇 The partnership will focus on: 🔸 Small modular nuclear power plants; 🔸 Creating a Center for Nuclear Science and Technology; 🔸 Training national personnel.

The problem is not whether Africa was colonised. The problem lies in the factors that made it possible for Africa to be conquered and later colonised. Was it preventable or was it inevitable? Why did conquest lead to colonisation? Was it possible to be conquered but not be colonised?

🚨NEW EPISODE AT THE VOICES PODCAST🚨 What does it really take to turn comedy into a BUSINESS? Beyond the laughter, the viral clips and the sold-out shows lies an industry built on risk, creativity, branding, entrepreneurship and serious business decisions. I sat down with Eddie Butita, one of Kenya’s most recognised comedy talents, for a powerful conversation about the business of comedy, building a brand, making money from creativity, and why African comedians are still struggling to scale beyond their borders. This is bigger than comedy. It’s about the business of African talent. Coming up tomorrow at 11:00 and 12:00 noon Kigali and Kenya time respectively at The Voices Podcast with Arafat. Are African comedians building sustainable businesses, or are they simply entertaining us? @eddiebutita @spmbuzzke

In our language there is a saying, if your enemy asks suggestion for new business, suggest him to go into transport business or open a restaurant. The business will keep him busy and no time to fight with you 😂😂. No offence to one doing that business

Rwandans want to enjoy the benefits of free expression and a vibrant media but don't want to go into the trenches to fight for those rights!

A group of Nigerian classmates had a get together in Rwanda - and they had a swell time. With the rising nonsense of anti-immigration sentiment in the West, and the convoluted visa application process; it is better for Africans to spend their hard earned money, in Africa.

Can't wait for the SUMMA boys to roll back in town after concluding Luano Airport City in Lubumbashi. Relatedly, the number of Ugandans working at Luano is quite high and they are brilliant craftsmen, tilers and masons
Kampala, big things are coming to Lugogo! 🏟️🇺🇬 The proposed Lugogo Sports Complex, to be built by Turkish firm Summa (the builders of Kigali's BK Arena and Hoima's Stadium), would have: 👉 15000 seating capacity 👉 A 3,000-seater second arena 👉 120 guest rooms & showroom 👉 Fitness gym, 8 lane swimming pool & hockey pitch 👉 A real game-changer for indoor sports in Uganda! 👉 Cost is About USD 210m (Shs 777bn). It's also planned as the main indoor venue for the 2031 Africa Games, which Uganda just won the right to host. Construction is set to commence after 2027 AFCON. Do you think a modern arena like this will finally take Ugandan indoor sports to the next level?

On an intellectual level, this is one of the most significant tweets by Gen MKM. It shows how he understands and intends to manage the economy.
There are no jitters in the economy. It is simply transitioning from a period of extreme liberalism and indiscipline, where speculators and conmen robbed Ugandans of trillions of shillings, to one of order.

What do the provisional list of the district council candidates 2026 local elections tell! The village-level elections held on 24 October were an encouraging start to the local electoral process, with citizens choosing their own leaders. Participation at this level brings democracy close to people’s everyday lives, allowing communities to select those they trust to represent them and address their concerns. Whatever their level of education or professional experience, citizens understand their needs. They know the challenges of accessing water, reaching health facilities, finding employment and travelling on poor roads. This lived experience deserves respect and a meaningful place in local decision-making. Participation should continue beyond election day, through opportunities to raise concerns, shape priorities and hold elected leaders accountable. Against this background, the provisional list of District Council candidates released by the National Electoral Commission 2 days ago suggests the possibility of substantial leadership renewal across the 27 districts covered by this analysis. Of the 18 incumbent mayors eligible to seek another term, eight appear on the provisional candidate list: Rusizi, Nyamasheke, Karongi, Rubavu, Gakenke, Kayonza, Ngoma and Kirehe. The other 10 eligible incumbent mayors from Rutsiro, Ngororero, Burera, Musanze, Gicumbi, Rulindo, Nyagatare, Kamonyi, Nyaruguru and Nyamagabe do not appear on the provisional list. Their absence does not, in itself, indicate whether they chose not to submit candidacies or whether their applications were not retained during the review process. A further nine incumbent mayors from Gisagara, Huye, Nyanza, Ruhango, Muhanga, Gatsibo, Rwamagana, Bugesera and Nyabihu have completed their second term and, under the applicable term limits, are not eligible for another term. Should the provisional list remain unchanged, at least 19 of the 27 districts, approximately 70%, would be expected to have new mayors. This proportion could increase, as the eight incumbents included on the list would still need to be elected as councillors and subsequently as mayors. This potential transition presents opportunities to build on existing achievements and bring fresh perspectives to district leadership. It also underscores the importance of preserving institutional knowledge, sustaining ongoing programmes and ensuring effective handovers. Structured induction, transition planning and support for incoming leaders would help maintain continuity in service delivery and implementation of district priorities. For incoming leaders, listening to citizens should be central to their responsibilities. The knowledge expressed through village elections and community discussions should inform district plans, budgets and service delivery. Leadership renewal will be most meaningful when citizens can see their priorities reflected in decisions and improvements in their daily lives. These observations remain preliminary and should be considered alongside the final candidate list and subsequent election results.

So, Rwanda should SURRENDER AND MAKE THE PERISHING FASTER?! They didn't survive Genocide to just come and grant Tshisekedi& Americans a CHEAP VICTORY- WHAT THEY COULDN'T ACHIEVE ON THE BATTLEFIELD to FLUKE it through cowardly SANCTIONS which punish UNARMED CIVILIANS.
🇺🇸🇷🇼🇨🇩 Weeks after Tim Kennedy was shot three times in eastern Congo... Washington sanctioned the army he was fighting Treasury hit Rwanda’s Ministry of Defense for deploying thousands of troops alongside the M23 rebels in North and South Kivu, and Zigama Credit and Savings Society for moving the money that buys their weapons and launders the gold that comes out of rebel-held mines into Rwanda. That is the same war Erik Prince’s contractors are in on the Congolese side, under a contract to secure and tax the mining areas Washington wants American companies in, and the September ambush that wounded Kennedy and killed a former New Zealand commando happened on one of those mining-revenue operations. The sanctions put the US government where Prince already was: on Tshisekedi’s side against Kigali, which was Washington’s Africa partner until the minerals deal made Congo worth more. Rwanda now has a choice between pulling its troops out of the Kivus or watching its defense ministry get cut off from dollars, and M23 has to decide whether to keep fighting with its bank frozen. Stunning piece about yet another old-guard, high-level, billionaire supporter of Israel who has lost faith in it - and in Netanyahu. "Ronald Lauder has never lived in Israel. But in the past year the Jewish billionaire, who serves as president of the World Jewish Congress, has given up his remaining properties in the country, a sign of the deep shift in his views of its future. A deep sense of disgust appears on his face as he recounts this. "I've sold my apartment in Tel Aviv, I gave my home in Be'er Sheva to the Jewish National Fund, of which I'm also the chairman. I basically cut my ties there. Because it has become so…," Lauder grimaces, making a gesture of vomiting. He goes on to blame Israel for failing to make peace, explaining that Israel actually didn't want peace: "I realized at the end of the day that Israel really didn't want peace, but they wanted dominance. And I walked away from it." "You've lost the Democratic Party, and you're losing the Republican Party. And it's all because of foolishness on your part. I want to tell Israelis, 'Shame on you! Shame on all of you. Your fathers and your grandfathers fought for this place, and you're losing it because of foolishness. Period.'" I think this reflects the view of many who fought to establish Israel/supported its creation, but at the same time believed in peace. Perhaps an unjust peace, clearly a peace on Israel's terms - but a peace nonetheless. But Israel has long swapped dominance and control for peace, and it has taken quite some time for many of its original supporters and champions to realize it - and admit to themselves the direction Israel actually is going in. haaretz.com/israel-news/elec…
