Systems Change by Donella Meadows: for those of us who everyday human action and behaviour threaten our optimism and learning not to lean into pessimism but always staying empowered. Empowered in all aspects of our lives. My opinion , it starts with self.

Such a brilliant writer , Elphaba and Glinda talking about getting a skinny bbl that defies gravity on their way to LagOz facing the emerald white and emerald green city is peak writing. Ayoade is talented!
Congratulations to Ayoade Bamgboye, who was chosen as this week’s #SNLUK episode MVP by you!

I am loving that through the SNL UK skit. Nigerians are learning that Nollywood was a popular all over the African continent and the Caribbean in the 90 and early 2000s. The Wizard of LagOz is the funniest most nostalgic thing that has happened. The cross overs are brilliant 😆

Most of the women for the Mercy Masika masterclass have a few things in common.1. Middle Class to upper class. 2.Two income households.3. Later 20s to early 40s. What are the statistics of victims of femicide @NjeriWaMigwi ? The anti marriage , anti Christian talk is a diversion

“Why is it bothering you?” while in the comfort of your cars. All of them have filmed in their cars. Akothee in her mansion. Now wa Jesus will speak for men. *Think Again! Proper dystopia

Also yes the church, millenials and Gen C OG all groups should remember how important the church has been in Kenya’s various revolutions. We used to wait to hear what Ndingi Mwana ’a Nzeki had to say. The church in Kenya has social influence that cannot be taken for lightly.

I am also so irritated at the civil society. What happened? Where are they while we are in an obvious crisis. It’s literally not business as usual nkt! I am so done with social media personalities controlling narrative with limited knowledge

The master class on becoming a wife is also a class issue. Again charging for the class, being able to afford the class explains all the privileged conversations. The same women who would attend these classes also probably have the power to speak loudly about femicide.

It’s very dystopian and frustrating to see how choice ironically is a defence when a lot of women do not have the same choice?? This has nothing to do with Mercy’s character, neither attacking Christianity, or attacking marriage.

Google has given me the right words because I have been struggling to find the right words to describe how messed up the conversations are. 1. Patriarchal capitalism. 2. Socially dystopian 3. Ideological gaslighting 4. Commodified 5. Classist etc

What are all these topics that are outlasting the 24 hour cycle? Even 10k GDP might not be enough to save us at this rate 😂😭

Lmao. The church is an institution and does have responsibility to deter violence like any other institution. Faulting the church for its role in shielding perpetrators is not blaming the victims or their beliefs. Find another argument to defend the church's wrongs.

A serious commitment to women's welfare extends beyond condescending to women on what they should be believing or doing. It examines what institutions should be doing, holding those institutions accountable, and resourcing women to exercise their choices. You are jokers.

Another reminder that Kenyan women are being murdered and we are in a femicide crisis. We also replicating western ideologies with zero western infrastructure.

Right on all counts…but I think there’s a reason it’s people who know (and have experienced)church-speak especially on godly wifehood who are mostly up in arms. It’s great to want to be a good wife, but the current church metric for that is silent endurance of everything🥲
Personally I’m always willing to learn. I’ve never been a wife before, I’ve never been a mother before. If there’s a class on motherhood and how to raise kids, a class on how to handle disputes, count me in. It’s okay to want to be better for your husband and vice versa and kids
