From the Los Angeles Times: Thomas Hearns broke his right hand in the first round of his 1985 fight against Marvin Hagler. The injury occurred when Hearns landed a powerful, flush right-hand uppercut to Hagler's head. The force of the blow, combined with the hardness of Hagler's skull, resulted in metacarpal fractures of his ring and little fingers. Peak boxing🔥😬
Everyone always talks about Marvin being the meanest middleweight during his reign, but more should be said about his class as a human being.
Just a real gentleman.

The 1st round of this fight is considered the best of all time… the public couldn't contain their breath. It was something epic. The punches they threw. Damn it.
Thomas Hearns spent most of the eighties chasing a rematch with Sugar Ray Leonard and it's cruel that he was denied the victory he craved.
In 1984, Marvin Hagler stopped Mustafa Hamsho in three rounds to defend his undisputed middleweight title.
After Hamsho butted him, Hagler responded with two devastating right hooks that left the challenger helpless.
Hamsho’s trainer jumped into the ring to stop the fight, handing Hagler his 50th career knockout.
Hagler improved to 60-2-2, while Hamsho suffered the first knockdown of his professional career.
