The #FixItClinic went great!! Helped fix a hair dryer & establish that a child's toy had a broken speaker. Other stuff that came in: stand mixers, a bike, an air purifier, CD players, and a cool green/blue light for looking at fluorescent mice 😮

Also, we enforce strict "cutoff dates" on bills that I have to imagine folks with big teams of lobbyists are fine with but present daunting challenges for smaller advocacy groups who can't adapt as quickly.
It's just not an even playing field and for seemingly no good reason.

Under no circumstances does it make sense to me for legislators/staff to have to rush when writing legislation.
That just seems absurd to me, and it happens WAY more often than I think the public is aware of.
