One of the greatest signs of ministerial maturity is knowing what not to say, where not to say it, and when not to say anything at all. Dear Minister, please learn these simple but profound rules of engagement. 1. Never turn the pulpit into a courtroom to defend yourself against personal allegations. The pulpit is primarily for the ministry of the Word, not the litigation of personal controversies. There are appropriate channels for allegations, investigations, accountability and justice. Use them! Your congregation came to hear Christ, not your defence counsel! 2. Never use the pulpit to fight other ministers. The pulpit is not a battlefield for settling ministerial rivalries, personal disagreements or unresolved grievances. Paul said, "We preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord" (2 Corinthians 4:5). The moment your personal battles become the substance of your preaching, you risk making yourself the centre of a platform meant to exalt Christ. 3. Never make public what wisdom can resolve privately. Jesus established a principle of private engagement in Matthew 18:15–17, with escalation where necessary. Not every disagreement requires a congregation. Not every offence requires an audience. Not every misunderstanding deserves a sermon. If a matter can be resolved in a room, why drag it before a crowd? 4. When attacked on social media, learn the discipline of strategic silence. You do not have to respond to every accusation, insult, provocation or malicious interpretation. There is a psychological principle called the extinction of attention-maintained behaviour: when attention is the reward sustaining certain behaviours, withholding that attention can sometimes reduce them. Some controversies survive because the people being attacked keep supplying fresh material! Your response can become the oxygen keeping the controversy alive. 5. Understand the Streisand Effect. This is the phenomenon whereby attempts to suppress or control unwanted publicity inadvertently attract even greater attention to it. In trying to defend yourself against an allegation nobody knew about, you may introduce it to thousands who would otherwise never have heard it! You may end up becoming the chief distributor of the very allegation you are trying to defeat. 6. Understand the psychology of escalation. Conflict escalation theory helps explain how repeated exchanges can transform a manageable disagreement into an increasingly destructive confrontation. One post invites a response. The response invites a counter-response. Soon, the original issue is forgotten, and the conflict itself becomes the entertainment. You cannot extinguish every digital fire by pouring more words into it. 7. Learn the difference between silence and irresponsibility. Strategic silence does not mean covering up wrongdoing, evading accountability or refusing legitimate investigations. Serious allegations must be handled through appropriate legal, safeguarding, governance and disciplinary processes. Sometimes a brief, factual statement is necessary to protect others, correct consequential misinformation or fulfil a duty of accountability. But accountability is not the same thing as public argument, and silence on social media is not silence before the appropriate authorities. 8. Finally, learn the wisdom of Proverbs 26:4–5. One verse says not to answer a fool according to his folly. The next teaches that there are circumstances in which an answer is necessary. That is not contradiction. That is discernment! Wisdom knows when to speak and when silence is the superior response. Ecclesiastes 3:7 calls it "a time to keep silence, and a time to speak." Dear Minister, Not every allegation deserves a sermon. Not every insult deserves a response. Not every disagreement deserves an audience. Not every controversy deserves your platform. And certainly, not every social media battle deserves your participation.

When you die, you’re going to be dead a lot longer than you ever lived, so it would be best if you prepared for eternity.

Many studies suggest that emotional regulation, not emotional suppression, is associated with better mental health and stronger relationships. Young King, I need you to know that masculinity is not diminished by: -Showing emotions -Being kind or compassionate -Being a devoted father -Cooperating with others -Having intellectual interests -Pursuing artistic or creative endeavors Masculinity is not about dominating people. It is about mastering yourself and carrying responsibility well.

This community transformer racket has to stop completely. It is daylight robbery disguised as community self-help, and the regulatory double standard is sickening. Look at how the power sector works in Nigeria: When a community transformer blows up, the DisCo goes deaf. You write letters, make calls, and nothing happens. Six months down the line, residents are suffocating in darkness, small businesses are dying, and fuel prices are draining everybody's pockets. Out of sheer desperation, landlords gather, task every household 50k, 100k, or more, and scrape together 5 to 8 million Naira to buy a brand new transformer, buy heavy copper cables, and pay for poles. The moment that equipment is energized, the DisCo claims it as company property. They add it to their network balance sheet, and within two weeks, they start distributing Band A and Band B bills. If you do not pay, they disconnect you with the ladder leaning on the very pole you bought with your own sweat. How can a private, for-profit utility company take free capital equipment from struggling citizens, pay zero interest, give zero equity, and then charge those same citizens full price to use it? If NERC mandated that customers who pay upfront for meters under the MAP scheme must be refunded their money over time through energy credits, why does the exact same logic not apply to transformers? A meter costs 100k to 150k and you refund it via monthly energy units. A transformer costs 6 to 10 million Naira funded by an entire street, and you pretend it was a charitable donation to a private entity? This injustice has to end. If a community is forced to step in and buy infrastructure because a DisCo failed its obligations, NERC should make automatic amortization mandatory: Every single household on that street that contributed to buying that transformer should have their meter credited with monthly energy units until the full cost of the asset, cables, and installation logistics is completely paid back. You cannot let private DisCos enrich their asset portfolios with crowd-funded community blood and then charge those same people premium tariffs for power. If DisCos want to own the asset, they must refund the people who paid for it.

Before the water turned into wine, someone had to do the ordinary, tiresome task of filling the jars. We want the miracles to just appear, but Jesus often meets us in the obedience of what seems small and unseen. In short, God may not always bypass the process, but He is present in it.

Ever noticed the Bible never said to “fix your behaviour first.” It says; “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” What fills your mind eventually shapes how you live. Change the way you think, and your life will begin to change too.

Jezebel was thrown down by the very people who knew her secrets and once supported her wickedness. She never imagined a day when hers supporters and defenders would stand on the Lord’s side against her. When God decides to expose wickedness, even the people who once supported and helped you hide it can become witnesses against you.

Just a reminder that your pastor is NOT the Good Shepherd. He’s another sheep who has simply learned to follow the Shepherd’s voice a little longer. Follow him only as far as he follows Christ.
