he reused the same basic framing for multiple movies... truly a visionary masterpiece. 🙄
I'll bet we'll eventually discover all these shots are lifted from other footage just like the gunner seat scenes.
We just need an AI tasked with finding them.

Local AI costs, as observed:
The GPU, once.
Power, monthly.
Re-downloading 400 GB of weights because a better quant dropped at 2 AM, daily.
just another entry in a long long long list of EA's fuckery... but I'm glad other people are not going to support them anymore.
Mass Effect fans are calling for a boycott of all EA products and services in protest of the company closing down BioWare and canceling the next Mass Effect game. bit.ly/4dZ9do7
Haven't tried it... Regular grok refuses too much.
What are most important things to improve about Grok @Bot?
Btw, make sure you’ve tried Bot recently, as over 100 features & fixes are released every week!
I smirked... but I can't imagine trying to be a super serious business and Elon just out here connecting your company to oral sex.
There wasn't NEAR enough closure on interpersonal choices for a finale... we'd get that eventually in DLC, but still.
Aside from that... I wanted to travel the liberated galaxy... even if it wasn't in this game... and they DESTROY the relays in EVERY ENDING... FOR NO REASON.
I never hated the ending of Mass Effect 3 when it came out as much as most people did. Or at least I wasn't surprised by it. Let me explain.
See the thing is, Mass Effect is, at it's root, cosmic horror. The Reapers are Lovecraftian with a paint of sci-fi. This is most obvious is Mass Effect 1 when you first talk to Sovereign and realize just what kind of story you are in. And the thing about cosmic horror is you don't win through fighting. No one wins a war against Cthulhu, and if they do, it's because they weren't really in a cosmic horror story.
So the options for Mass Effect 3 were always either 1) all pretense of cosmic horror is abandoned and we beat the reapers through combined guile and military force or b) some semblance of cosmic horror is maintained, and the route to beating the reapers is an outside context solution. Some might call it a deus ex machina.
So from that standpoint, the overall 'kind' of resolution that we got in Mass Effect 3 was more or less what I expected. Now I think it's perfectly fair to criticize execution, and the replies to this will entirely be people who didn't read my post and just want to talk about how bad color coded endings suck (btw, I think if the endings hadn't been associated with a color public opinion of them would be higher. Possibly a hotter take than the rest of the post)
But there you have it. Genre dictated the 'kind' of ending the series had. Mass Effect isn't Halo. It's not Mil-Scifi. A purely military victory would have been a betrayal of genre.

Posso ser Paragon mil vezes no Mass Effect, eu sempre aperto o botão de renegade nessa cena, satisfatório demais.
I genuinely do not know if learning to code is a smart move at this point. Why?
Well, I do know that already knowing how to code is incredibly useful. But it took decades to master, and who knows how long it will stay useful?
I think we have enough coders to bridge us to the point where we no longer need coders.
I couldn't find a copy to pirate... could only find one review... screenshots looked like every other Star Wars game... I thought Star Wars sucked...
I needed something to play that wasn't Halo... probably my best 'wtf, why not...' game purchase ever.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- 4,000 years before the films
- originally a devs personal tabletop
- one of the best plot twists in gaming
- possible origin of "simp"
- Jennifer Hale as Bastila
- Jeremy Soule soundtrack
Still the best Star Wars game ever made.
I wanted to argue because I love both equally...
but this summary is fucking spot on.
The Mass Effect vs Halo debate is kinda similar to Star Trek vs. Star Wars debates.
If you like Star Wars more you'll like Halo more. It's operatic, it's grand in scale, melodramatic, larger than life, and a bit cheesy. It doesn't get bogged down in the minutiae of how the universe's every piece functions, but it still constructs coherent lore and deep backstory. It's soul is pure, and it adores heroes and the classic battle between good and evil w/clear battle lines drawn.
If you like Star Trek more you'll like Mass Effect more. It's a bit more restrained, a bit more nerdy. Far more explanation goes into the world and it's backstory than the Halo games did. It also deals w/far more morally complex and grey topics, the good guys aren't anywhere near as perfectly good, and the bad guys have their points. The characters are very similar to archetypes on shows like DS9 and Enterprise, while Halo's fits w/the classic heroic standard w/o too much deviance.
So anyway I like Star Trek more.
