Sports Donga published an article discussing the growing trend of duo units in K-pop, highlighting EXO, ZEROBASEONE, and SEVENTEEN as groups actively exploring the format. The article highlights how SEVENTEEN has continuously introduced diverse unit combinations, giving members the space to explore different musical colors while keeping group momentum and CARAT engagement strong during their military enlistment era. It specifically names Hoshi × Woozi, DK × Seungkwan, S.Coups × Mingyu, THE 8 × Vernon, and Jeonghan × Joshua. It also covers JxJ’s recent solo concerts, drawing around 25,000 fans over three days, alongside DREAMSCAPE surpassing 800,000 first-week sales to top Hanteo’s weekly chart. I genuinely liked the angle; SEVENTEEN’s unit strategy genuinely deserves the spotlight. But writing an entire piece celebrating SVT’s unit evolution while completely ignoring BSS and JxW feels baffling. Sure, you could argue BSS was excluded strictly because the prompt was "duos" (even though leaving them out of any SVT unit discourse is a stretch). But what about JxW? What are they, chopped liver? Leaving out the very duo that paved the way for this current wave makes the retrospective feel half-baked. If you're going to praise SEVENTEEN's blueprint for sub-units, do the bare minimum research and give credit to the milestones that built it. m.entertain.naver.com/home/a…
