A lawsuit filed Friday accuses the Louisiana prison system of unlawfully keeping inmates incarcerated past their scheduled release dates.
A state audit found over 2,000 inmates each year are detained past their legal release dates by an average of over 70 days.
They are illegally holding inmates longer to maintain a steady supply of forced slave labor for corporations to profit from.
