Added a small experiment to my portfolio: Ink Drift Canvas.
A canvas you can draw on, where each stroke gently fades from where it began more like ink settling than a typical signature pad.

Portfolio has an experiments section now :)
first one: a Next.js blur image component.
Handles image optimization + smooth loading with a blur transition. small thing, but makes images feel so much better.

I built Rune, a lightweight and fully customizable QR code library.
I made it because I kept hitting the same wall. I needed QR codes I could properly customize, with real control over the shapes and logo placement for my work, and I also wanted to render them in my React Native apps. Every existing library forced a trade-off. qrcode.react is tiny but only draws plain square dots. qr-code-styling looks great but is browser-only, heavy, and slow. So I built my own.
Rune does all of it at once:
Custom shapes (8 dot styles, 5 finder styles), gradients, background images, logo placement, and frames with call-to-action text.
Fast: toSVGString is the quickest sync SVG generation of the popular libraries, and it needs no DOM.
Runs everywhere: server-side rendering, edge, Node, and React Native (via toSVGString with react-native-svg). qr-code-styling cannot render server-side at all.
Zero-dependency core, around 8 KB gzipped, written from scratch per ISO/IEC 18004.
One engine, four targets: React, Vue, vanilla, and a rune-qr Web Component. Export to SVG, PNG, JPEG, WebP, and PDF. It also has a built-in decoder to read QR codes back, which none of the others do.
On correctness I did not cut corners. The encoder matches the reference implementation bit for bit, and every visual style is rasterized and decoded again in CI to prove it actually scans.
Open source under MIT, with a live interactive playground and full docs.

Install: pnpm add @kroszborg/rune-react

What is actually going on with AI right now
> Fable 5 dropped June 9. Lasted literally 3 days before the US government yanked it for "national security."
> Then GPT-5.6 releases yesterday and it's gated the government is literally approving customers one by one before you can use it.
two frontier models. two weeks. two government interventions.
AI is too dangerous to release to the public
China meanwhile just dropped GLM-5.2 and Kimi K2.7 as open weights lmaooo. while we're sitting here waiting for the government to approve our chatbot subscription
nobody knows what the rules are. there's no regulatory framework. OpenAI literally said "we don't think this should become the norm." Anthropic disagrees with the directive and still had to comply within hours.
this is the new normal and we're not ready for it

Looking to #connect with builders on @X
If you're into:
• React / Next.js / full stack dev
• building SaaS from scratch
• using AI tools as part of your actual workflow
• shipping in public, mistakes included
• still figuring it out
we probably have something in common.
Drop what you're working on let's follow each other's builds.
