Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana has hit the theatres, and India is already divided over it, particularly the casting of Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita. But wait, why does all of this feel so eerily familiar? Almost like déjà vu. Step into the time machine and travel back to 1948. Thread 1/18

In 1973, as Indira Gandhi arrived near Chikhaldara, Maharashtra, to inaugurate a tiger reserve, a local woman approached her. There was something unusual about her. Once upon a time, people in the region had believed she was a ghost. She had a photograph in her hand. Thread 1/14

Professor Ashoke Sen is an extraordinary human. In 2012, he won the inaugural Fundamental Physics Prize, worth $3 million. He could’ve well used the amount for personal luxury, instead he donated a large chunk of it to help students, fund fellowships & support science in India.
Ashoke Sen has been awarded the prestigious Oskar Klein Medal for 2026, becoming the first Indian physicist to receive the honour. Previous recipients include Nobel laureates Chen-Ning Yang, Steven Weinberg and Hans Bethe, who received the medal in its first three years.
