How PCI Express and NVMe Work Together youtube.com/watch?v=1VmD9wD2… PCI Express, usually shortened to PCIe, is a high-speed connection used by several types of computer hardware. Graphics cards, network adapters, and many SSDs communicate through PCIe links. A PCIe link has a generation and a lane count. A specification such as PCIe 4.0 x4 describes both: generation four, using four lanes. The available connection bandwidth depends on these characteristics. NVMe provides the storage communication model used by modern PCIe SSDs in ordinary PCs. It defines how software submits storage commands and receives completion information. Its queue structure allows the system to manage many outstanding requests efficiently.

What M.2 Actually Means youtube.com/watch?v=1VmD9wD2… M.2 describes a physical form factor and connector arrangement. It does not, by itself, identify a drive’s speed or storage protocol.

A user alleges ChatGPT installed apps without asking. I can’t verify the permissions involved. But I’d like agents to treat software installs as temporary by default: finish the task, remove the dependency, and show what remains on my machine.

How a Hard Disk Drive Stores Data youtube.com/watch?v=1VmD9wD2… A hard disk drive, or HDD, stores information magnetically on rotating platters. An actuator moves the read/write heads across the platter surfaces to reach different locations.

I used to think stale documentation wasted time. With coding agents, it can actively rewrite working software to match an obsolete rule. That changes the economics of docs: the README nobody maintains can become the instruction somebody executes.

I understand r/opensource wanting less AI spam. But requiring a year-old project, three contributors and an existing community makes discovery a reward for already being discovered. That filters newcomers more reliably than it filters bad software.

I see a business in helping firms run AI on hardware they control. The model is only part of the purchase. Someone still has to handle updates, access controls and outages. Open weights can move spending from API vendors to systems engineers.
