All the Caribbean seems to be doing is taking from Cuba and when its time to stand up for them its well "self preservation."

CARICOM (as a bloc) UN vote is even more embarrassing, when you consider the fact that the Cuban resolution to end the US genocidal sanctions + blockade regime also included “freedom of international trade and navigation” — as the US is murdering fishermen at sea in the region.

In 1976 the CIA blew up a Cuban plane linking Guyana, T&T, Barbados and Jamaica because they broke a US blockade and opened diplomatic ties with Cuba 50 years later 3 turn their backs on their sister island. The US won. Divided we fall

The CARICOM nations that abstained and Trinidad and Tobago voting against ending the U.S. blockade on Cuba. So disappointing..
NOW: World majority demands an end to the U.S. blockade on Cuba for the 34th time, in annual UN vote. Vote board:

Liberation poetry from our friends in the Caribbean who know intimately the meaning behind words like "occupation, colonialism, genocide". We continue to build global, transnational solidarity because none of us can be free, untill all of us are free. 🍉
Today, we are sharing this powerful and pertinent piece from our Liberation Poetics series, “Bound in Rage and Terror” by Angelique V. Nixon ✊🏾 Read the full poem here: intersectantigua.com/blog/bo…

Eusi Kwayana, in his own words, against the “political elite,” “managerial class,” and “party-activists” who go on “preaching equality and practicing accumulation; preaching socialism and practicing capitalism, preaching tightening the belts and gorging themselves with plenty.”
Co-editor Matthew Quest reflects on the life of our late friend Eusi Kwayana, who passed away at 101. While others remember Baba Eusi as an “elder” or “patriot” this obscures his evangelism of a world “where toilers and commoners hold the reins of society.”medium.com/clash-voices-for-…

What can today’s Caribbean anti-imperialists learn from the error of Fidel Castro’s recognition of Israel? What becomes of anti-imperialism when it places recognition by imperial masters above the self-directed activity of ordinary people? Read on: medium.com/clash-voices-for-…

It’s difficult to convey the weight of this loss. Baba Eusi blessed us with more than a century of wisdom and principled struggle. Yet it’s a loss that still, somehow, feels premature as we push forward without his guiding hands.
This morning, we @CaribbeanClash mourn the loss of our elder, collaborator, and dear friend, Eusi Kwayana, who passed away yesterday at the age of 101. A tireless evangelist of working people in the Caribbean. A native son of Guyana. Today, a whole region weeps.

Part of the destabilization of Venezuela. As a number of us predicted. Just like they did to Haiti. My thoughts are with you Venezuela.
