I’m thankful that my full-time gig is writing but I just rolled my eyes at my own bullshit when my mom just told me that she’s been working nights & weekends for 5 months to develop a new COVID rapid test whereas I’ve been struggling to make my pilot’s protagonist more active.

American Fiction has a trailer! Coming in December 2023 to a theater near you. XO
BEHOLD! The trailer for American Fiction, @cordjefferson’s brilliant first feature. I’m insanely proud that our company T-Street was involved in this, I love this movie so much.

The @WGAWest meeting was so moving and powerful tonight. Standing room only. An over 5 min long standing ovation for the board and neg com. Powerful speeches that brought me to tears. I’m so proud of my union. What a moment to be a part of #wgastrong

Here to report a theft. I spent three decades of my life to write my books. The Al large language models did not "ingest" or "scrape"
"data." Al companies stole my work, time, and creativity. They stole my stories. They stole a part of me.

The WGA and AMPTP have reached a tentative agreement. This was made possible by the enduring solidarity of WGA members and extraordinary support of our union siblings who stood with us for over 146 days. More details coming after contract language is finalized. #WGAStrike

Joe Garcia just called me from prison. I read him some of the reactions to his unforgettable @newyorker essay about Taylor Swift.
He was surprised and happy. “I wish I could see the response in real time,” he said. (1/2) newyorker.com/culture/the-we…

I’m a showrunner who is very much for this and knows that there were thousands of survey responses from WGA members who did, in fact, ask for it.
The WGA proposed that TV shows should hire a minimum of six to 12 writers, but some writers disagree.
“Nobody asked for this,” said one prominent showrunner. “Every showrunner I know is against this. It doesn’t make sense to anybody.” bit.ly/3sk06cw

All I can say is that 99% of the showrunners I know are in support of this proposal, including me. I am not going to demonize writers against it, but I think this is a classic Mr. Spock “good of the many vs. good of the one” situation.

I was asked today by a few people why the #WGA and the #AMPTP don’t just meet in the middle? I answered the #WGA wants a fair deal and the #AMPTP wants us homeless. Where is the middle of that? Wide eyes of horror and speechlessness was their answer. #WGASTRONG #SAGAFTRAstrong – at Santa Monica, CA

everyone i know in their late 20s is having an existential crisis because we skipped our mid 20s in the pandemic. relationships fast-tracked, careers faltered, we lost those core identity-building years and now we feel like 23-year-old brains in bodies approaching 30

There was a fire above @yuandmebooks - which means it won’t be operational for 1 yr due to damage. This is devastating. Anyone who knows the bookstore - the first AAPI woman-run bookstore in the country knows it’s a beacon to us all. Pls consider donating. gofundme.com/f/yu-me-books-r…

Proud DGA member but I’m voting NO
No matter how many times they call this deal “historic” when you actually read the details, it doesn’t come close to protecting us against A.I. This is our last chance. WGA and SAG have spine. Do we?
Vote NO
