I’m deeply alarmed by Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank.
Settlements are expanding, evictions are unrelenting with Palestinians driven from their lands, settler violence is surging, Palestinian families are being assaulted.
We are seeing an increasingly coercive environment, with the spectre of ethnic cleansing looming ever larger.
This must end.
There can be no durable peace in the Middle East without the realization of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

The situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is out of control.
In Gaza, essential aid is still being severely restricted by Israel.
In the occupied West Bank, Palestinians continue to suffer daily attacks by Israeli settlers and journalists & diplomats are being attacked.
There must be a credible political path towards lasting peace, ending the occupation and realizing a two-State solution, with Israel & Palestine living side by side in peace & security.

At a time when its independence and ability to operate are under pressure, our support must go beyond words. Belgium will continue working with the other Court’s partners to secure concrete measures that protect its independence, its staff and its ability to deliver justice. The ICC must be able to fulfil its mandate without intimidation or interference.
