Can’t believe it’s been a year since I made this little but ambitious solo-short REENTRY. 80 seconds with a nice little gut punch. Grateful for these shorts. They gave me a lot of confidence to keep practicing even on my own and they were a huge part of getting me to finally shoot my first feature film a few weeks ago (OCCUPIED).

REENTRY| Plunging through reentry, a lone astronaut clings to fragments of another life.
This short was made in my garage with no budget, no crew, and NO AI. I retaught myself basic VFX compositing in After Effects, and put many hours into making this a fully-human-made piece that I could be proud of. Special thanks to my wife and children for putting up with the process and making a few guest appearances. I hope it connects for you! If it does, a share or a repost would mean the world :) Many thanks! - Scott

Read this. Great comic.
Then looked at the last 20 years of Amazing Spider-Man and sighed.

Can anyone actually beat Steam on PC?
According to Newzoo market intelligence director Emmanuel Rosier, challenging Steam may be nearly impossible as long as Valve remains privately owned and independent.
Publishers have tried building their own PC storefronts, only to return to #Steam. #EA and #Ubisoft brought games back to Valve’s platform, while Blizzard now sells Overwatch 2 there, too.
Rosier argues that Steam’s biggest advantage goes beyond its store: players already have their game libraries, friends lists and communities in one place. Convincing them to move elsewhere is a massive challenge, even if a competitor offers better features or deals.
Valve’s private ownership may also give it more freedom to prioritize players without the same pressure to satisfy public shareholders.
Could any storefront realistically dethrone Steam?

At first, I wanted to give it a 90s anime vibe, but I ended up leaning more toward my own personal style. It now has a more subtle 90s feel, but I’m really happy with how it turned out. I hope you like it!

Chrono Trigger DS now has a native PC port with up to 144 FPS!
Meet Egg of Time, an open-source project that brings the #NintendoDS version of #ChronoTrigger to Windows through static recompilation, no traditional emulator required!
The project adds 16:9 widescreen and 21:9 ultrawide support, resolutions up to 2816 × 2112, frame rates up to 144 FPS, keyboard and mouse controls, gamepad support, save states, and mods for music and cutscenes.
You’ll need your own copy of the US Nintendo DS version. The project is still experimental, so the developer hasn’t confirmed that the entire adventure can be completed without issues.
