I officially won the case against YouTube! A legal body officially certified under EU law has ruled on my demonetization case against YouTube and found in my favour on every point, i.e “I won”. Official decision: — YouTube’s demonetization was declared unlawful — The measure must be overturned — YouTube pays the costs The Arbiter found: YouTube contradicted itself. My channel was reviewed and readmitted to the Partner Program on April 15. Nine days later, YouTube demonetized it again for the same reason. If that reason still applied, the readmission would never have happened. The remedy YouTube offered was impossible. YouTube said monetization could only return if the related channel was readmitted, but that channel was deleted and cannot be readmitted. The Arbiter called this “a permanent measure with no defined path to resolution.” No human reviewed my appeal. My video appeal was rejected automatically within hours. Under EU law, that’s not allowed. The Arbiter concluded no human reviewer was assigned to my case. The policy was hidden. YouTube relied on a rule that only exists in its internal resources, creators couldn’t read it. YouTube offered no defence. They argued only that the case didn’t apply to them. They said nothing to justify what they did. Under EU law, YouTube has a duty to cooperate in good faith with this ruling. So @TeamYouTube please do the right thing, manually clear “related channel” flag and restore my channel’s monetization. I’ve been waiting half year now.

Here’s what YouTube @TeamYouTube did to me👇🏼 Youtube has trapped my account in a nightmare loop using a secret internal policy they literally admitted is not visible to creators and hidden from the public. Here is the chronological timeline: • THE DECEPTIVE INTERFACE: When my original channel had an issue, YouTube's platform explicitly presented options to "EDIT or DELETE VIDEOS as a part of resolution". It never warned me that deleting the channel would lock me out forever. • THE 90-DAY PROMISE: Their support team (see screenshots) explicitly stated that "As long as you have the option to reapply, you still have the chance to redeem and reinstate the monetization of your channel”. They assured me that "channels will be assessed in its current state" (see screenshots), so I was encouraged to wait the mandatory 90 days and reapply. •THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLIANCE: I followed their instructions perfectly. I waited the full 90 days, reapplied, and a human reviewer officially ACCEPTED ME BACK into the YouTube Partner Program. Full compliance served. •THE UNFAIR AMBUSH: Just 9 days later, a bot randomly stripped my monetization again for the exact same "related channel" issue. This time, support completely flipped their script, claiming: "it is advised to not delete your originally suspended channel if you would like to regain access" (see screenshots). •THE SECRET POLICY ADMISSION BY YT SUPPORT AGENT: When I called them out on this hidden rule, support flat-out admitted: "THIS INFO CAN ONLY BE SEEN WITHIN OUR RESOURCES" (see screenshots). They openly confessed to using an undisclosed internal policy and apologized: "We're really sorry about this... we'll take note of this info to be visible to creators" (see screenshots). •THE INSANE REPEATED PENALTY: Despite admitting they hid the rule, their broken system is now telling me to wait another 90 days to reapply again. They are punishing me indefinitely because I can't reinstate a channel that their own interface told me to delete in the first place. Youtube support agent admitted they have a secret rule, they admitted they didn't publish it, and they admitted they need to fix it. YouTube team, please escalate this logic deadlock to an engineering team immediately to clear this stale database link.

Hey @TeamYouTube served the full 90-day wait, reapplied, was reviewed and accepted back into YPP on 15 April. 9 days later, automatically demonetized again under the same “related channel” reason. Same option: wait another 90 days, reapply, same loop. Why does YPP offer reapplication and acceptance, only for an automated flag to reverse it days later under the same reason the acceptance already cleared? The two channels are not related. The other channel was deleted over half a year ago. My recent readmission back to YPP is itself proof the link no longer applies. The solution is simple: manually clear the related-channel link. Without that, the loop continues indefinitely. If this is not resolved in the next 14 days, I will pursue formal legal action. My name isn’t Toni by the way.

Hi @TeamYouTube can internal team member with authority check my channel and remove automated “related channel” flag which should have been created during manual review and acceptance to YPP? This is false positive system error.

Same as my case, @TeamYouTube support suggests resolution path that’s impossible to perform.

just filed a formal DSA COMPLAINT against YouTube, they accepted my case and forwarded it to YouTube - now YouTube has 14 days to respond (deadline June 4th). if they don't reply, a default decision gets issued automatically. wild that this process even exists let's see what happens👀

Hey @TeamYouTube it’s really not that hard, tell me what’s wrong, let me correct it, if it’s my fault and I need to serve penalty I will, learned my lesson and back to business. Why playing us, why all of this automated wall, why all of this hiding, indirect - foggy nonsese? Literally any other company I can think of has better support, by miles. I have now formally initiated independent regulatory review of YouTube’s handling (or rather mishandling) of my channel’s monetization status under the EU Digital Services Act. The matter concerns what I consider to be a breach of the rights: DSA Article 17, requiring platforms to provide clear, specific, and reasoned explanations of content moderation decisions; DSA Article 20, requiring an effective internal complaint mechanism (a four-hour automated rejection of a substantive appeal does not, in my view, meet this standard); GDPR Article 22, restricting decisions taken solely on the basis of automated processing where they produce significant effects on the data subject. I am aware of my rights as a platform user under EU law, and I intend to pursue them through every legitimate channel available. The matter is now in the hands of second independent body certified for this purpose. We Creators deserve better support, because as of now, we don’t have any YT support, literally zero, it actually shocking.

Hi @TeamYouTube I waited 90 days to reapply, got accepted “your channel will be assessed in it’s current state” and demonetised 9 days later for the same reason that has been cleared during re-application review. Told to wait 90 days again. This is impossible remedy.

Please @TeamYouTube fix this. I’m one of many who has been caught in never ending 90 day demonetisation loop.

Hey @TeamYouTube same situation I’m in since December, I couldn’t resolve “related channel” issue for 2 months, so I decided to wait 90 days to reapply (YouTube’s support agent suggested it’s the only way). GOT ACCEPTED! And demonetized again 9 days later for “related channel”.
