I love all veggies, but squash has a special place in my heart. Roasted, pureed, in salads, in soups, and even desserts… it really is the best part of fall.
Remember how in the 1990s there were a bunch of restaurants where you could go for coffee and dessert? Does such a thing still exist anywhere in Toronto? Because this girl needs a big honking slice of cheesecake without having to buy an entree first.
Who needs drugs when you can just get a new pair of glasses with a stronger prescription? Instant trip. (Or maybe migraine. YMMV.)
The weirdest part of this whole pandemic is planning day trips around my COVID vaccine bookings since I can’t find any appointments in Toronto. Any tips on things to do or eat in Hamilton, seeing as I have to shlep out there for my second dose?

Dear Torontonians. Find your nearest lilac bush and take a deeeeep breath. The world will seem a little bit better, if only for one blissful moment. #dlws

Back when I was young and broke and working in retail, I once went into work with a raging case of strep throat. I knew I was sick, but I was part time and literally couldn’t afford to lose a day’s pay. It’s not rocket science. #PaidSickDays save lives.
You know you’ve made some monumentally stupid policy when even the establishment starts pushing back. Glad to see the kids are getting their playgrounds back, but can we please get some paid sick days for those who need them?
I’m exhausted, folks. I’ve tried to stay positive through the past year, but this latest round of pointless restrictions might just be the one that breaks me. None of this is going to make a difference. Not one bit.
Today feels full of doom and gloom, so here’s a picture of my cat looking adorable for anyone who needs a temporary break from their regularly scheduled doom-scrolling.
I love everything about this thread. My votes are the old bread factory on Eastern Ave, the souvlaki stands during Taste of the Danforth, and the smell of grilled sardines that is ubiquitous on hot summer evenings in the west end.

Oh yay. Another lockdown. I can’t even imagine how exhausted the small business owners must be stuck in this constant hellish cycle.
