Sharing an urgent plea from the Chattahoochee Valley Bernese Mountain Dog Rescue in North Georgia (Atlanta area) and Riggie the Berner’s mom- she’s on the board of the Rescue (many of you follow Riggie on Instagram - the plea is for poor Charlie 🥺👇 here is the video she shared - it’s also shared on FB instagram.com/reel/De2UShtJm… I cried making this video. I visited Charlie today at the vet clinic where he is being boarded and treated. He is petrified. He is anxious. He is underweight. He is sick. He doesn’t want to be indoors. Humans have failed this sweet, beautiful Berner boy. Some humans have been very unkind to the sweet Berner boy 💔 he’s being boarded at the vet currently. We need your help. We don’t just need to find any home for Charlie… we need to find the ✨right✨ home. Charlie is a very tough case who will require an experienced foster who can manage and rehabilitate a very anxious dog who needs to complete 3 months of heartworm treatment and has no idea what it means to be an indoor dog. All medical care is being paid for by Chattahoochee Valley Bernese Mountain Dog Club & Rescue. Charlie’s ideal home is a needle in a haystack: ❌ no other dogs ❌ no cats (or can be COMPLETELY separated) ❌ no small kids ✅ fenced yard We have several valid reasons for these requirements, so please do not ask us to make an exception. This is the environment that Charlie needs right now to recover and learn how to be an inside dog and a loved family member. Right now, we are limiting our search to the East Coast of the U.S. due to the challenges involved in transporting an anxious, medically sensitive dog that needs to remain calm during treatment. If you live west of the Mississippi, and meet ALL of our requirements, please fill out an application in case we cannot find a suitable match in our desired geography. Lizzy is an adorable, very affectionate three year old female looking for her forever home. She is very friendly and gets along well with dogs and cats. She would do great in an active home, with someone home most of the day to play with her. She requires a fenced yard (not invisible fence). She is currently located in Maryland.
