One of the worst things that can happen to you online is that people begin to take you too seriously. This is not a serious medium.

When I was a boy my friend told me he knew a guy who worked for Nintendo. We got a roll of printer paper and spent days designing levels for a shoot 'em up video game. We made the themes for each level, I would draw caverns and monster bosses, space ships, etc. It was really fun.
Then my friend told me he'd lied. He didn't know anyone that worked for Nintendo. But he asked if we could still design another game together, because it was fun.
I told him no. No, because it had lost its magic for me. I felt very betrayed. And I wanted him to understand that I would not be manipulated like that. He really hurt me.
my biggest cope is that if I hadn’t popped xanny bars like tic tacs all through high school i’d be the world’s greatest freestyle rapper and chess master and a bestselling author and a platinum record producer. Like I said.. it’s my biggest cope.
Gm guy who in an alternative, more autistic life could easily see himself going on a Pynchonesque quest across space and time to discover “how Nick Drake got his guitar to sound like that..”

Not since discovering the likes of Bill Knott and Thomas Lux have I been so thrilled to read and possess book of modern poetry. Much like the two aforementioned writers, Tom Will manages to pack silliness and seriousness together in a way that makes me want to dress in a three piece suit and hang upside down from monkey bars and recite these poems out loud for everyone on the playground to hear. I was, in fact, reading them to my baby this morning and they were making her giggle, likely because they speak to something other than the head, the sounds of the words moving through the ear canals and heading directly for the heart. Thank you for writing these poems, @TomWill72550626.

Culture that’s so depraved it has people driving around with bumper stickers depicting stick figures engaging in cunnilingus with the words “I ❤️ sushi.”
If we’re ever going to make it we’ll have to start wearing 100% cotton socks again, like at the cultural level.

A few years ago I had a very weird student who gave me a drawing she'd made after seeing me on the bus (we ended up flunking her that year)
