You're an MP, not a key board warrior.
You've been exposed for doing nothing to support Ipswich's City of Culture bid, then trying to criticise others & now deflecting.
Start doing your job as a local MP, then you will be in a better position to criticise others for their work.
You do nothing all year to support a town you nominally, partially represent.
You get exposed for not lifting a finger.
You've not thanked any of the brilliant people who worked on the bid, or celebrated our town.
And you've blamed other people despite that.
Weird behaviour.
1 comment to the press at the start of the year was your sum total contribution to the bid?
Could you point me to the other times you supported it or the work you personally put in?
You're so disengaged you don't even know the process - it's a panel headed by Sir Phil Redmond.
It was such a joy to join Suffolk Bengali Society for their Durga Puja event at the weekend.
It was such a vibrant, colourful and happy celebration with hundreds of people in attendance across both days.
Thank you to all those who worked so hard in making it happen.
What a bizarre, ill-informed and negative statement.
Despite nominally representing 3 wards in Ipswich, you did next to nothing to support our City of Culture bid.
Even now, there is no message of pride or thanks to the people who worked so hard, just a weak political attack.
“The final nail in the coffin came with the disappointing news that Ipswich has been passed over as the City of Culture. Despite the local MP being the Secretary of State’s Parliamentary Secretary, Ipswich still lost out to … Wrexham! Words desert me.”
My pre-budget op-ed for the @EADT24

Retail crime is a scourge on our communities.
As a Government we are taking action to tackle this issue, but there is work to be done locally too.
That's why I brought together @SuffolkPolice and @EoECoop to see what more we can do so shop workers and customers feel safe.
Autumn has definitely arrived, but our @IpswichLabour team are out every week, all year round, talking to local residents, even if it's a bit wet, rainy or cold!
This weekend, we met people in Downside Close. Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak to us.
The jollof rice judging panel!
It was such a joy to join the wonderful Lara and so many other brilliant people at Karibu's Black History Month event.
It was a real celebration of African heritage with food, music, education and culture.
It wasn't to be for Ipswich's City of Culture bid, but we should be proud of how far we've come, and excited about where we are going.
This bid wasn't the full stop on my ambitions for our town, I've always seen it as a catalyst for a brighter future.
We have much more to come.
This isn't the result we were hoping for, but I am so proud of our town.
This bid has changed how Ipswich sees itself and the partnerships, aspiration, ideas and the confidence it has built are here to stay.

I'm pleased that a new @PostOffice will be opening in Ipswich town centre following the closure of the branch in TG Jones - credit to them for finding a new location so quickly.
Other town centre post offices in Fore Street and Carr Street remain open.

Babies and mothers in Ipswich and Suffolk need the best possible care, but Ipswich Hospital's maternity building is way past its sell-by date.
I'll keep pressing the Government for support to deliver a new maternity site that is fit for purpose.

Ipswich Hospital desperately needs a new maternity unit.
Our local maternity service supports around 3,000 births each year, but the building itself hasn't been fit for purpose for years.
A replacement would enable high-quality care to be delivered in modern, state-of-the-art, accommodation while removing an ageing, high-risk building from the hospital campus that is costing significant ongoing costs in backlog maintenance from the estate at Ipswich Hospital.
This report makes for difficult reading and the concerns identified by the CQC must be taken extremely seriously. Patients deserve confidence that any and all concerns are acted upon without delay.

I welcome the commitment to reducing emergency waiting times and ending corridor care once and for all and have spoken to the new Chief Exective about this very issue. No patient should be treated in a waiting room or car park, without dignity or privacy.
