The PM has just answered 125 questions in almost three and a half hours, from pubs, to trains to social care and the Parades Commission. He’s answered without notes throughout. His first time at the dispatch box for a decade & a hugely impressive performance.

Advocates of traditional teaching methods are incorrectly caricatured as favouring ‘factory models’ of schooling. The truth couldn’t be further: pursuing knowledge to inherit the marvels of our civilisation. @andyburnham seeks to destroy this by tying schools to *local* jobs. 1/

What a difference 6 months makes! 7Williams have been using a word loop method to build resilience, independence and deeper analysis. Pupils build connotations, then use the loop as a success criteria, including all words in their paragraph. So proud! Frankenstein Oct-> R+J May➿

Stories do more than engage. They build knowledge, they deepen vocabulary, and they give pupils access to worlds, people, places and ideas they might not otherwise meet. That is why story-rich curriculum work matters.

I’ve put a load of my most popular files together in a Dropbox folder. Let me know if you’d like the link. Can I also ask that you share this post pretty please 🙏 (as it seems the only way to get anything seen nowadays!). 😊

Prefer my Prime Minister to be having a kick about with his pals than blowing up schools in the Middle East tbh.

NEW An Inspector Calls 23-lesson scheme for 2026 - the old one was from 2022 (!) and it was a bit outdated so I've re-done it and now it looks like all my others :) I've put it in my google drive & popped a link here - hope it helps someone! drive.google.com/drive/folde…

A teacher in 2008 started on £20,627. This was ~85% higher than minimum wage. Today, they start on £32,916. Which is only 33% higher than minimum wage. This doesn't even account for student loans or pension contributions. The gap is closing and closing fast!
26.4k a year for minimum wage 40 hours a week. Teaching salary is 30k a year to start with. So you’re telling me I have to go to university for 4 years to then start off on a salary 3.6k more than someone who works at Tesco? That makes sense…
