East Midlands dynasties beloved by the City of Leicester. But what of Brookman? Will future generations know the name?

I thought I’d jazz up the editing a bit - not sure if it works - I was trying to mimic the album cover a bit.
Song: The Long and Winding Road
Artist: The Beatles
Album: Let it Be (1970)
Writers: Lennon-McCartney

Here's a second clip from my recording of this one - I'm never really sure how to arrange the middle 8 but think this just about covers it.

It's a bit low for my voice but transposing it up puts it in B which is a bit fiddly 🥴
Song: Everybody Wants to Rule the
Artist: Tears for Fears
Album: Songs from the Big Chair (1982)
Writers: Roland Orlazabal, Ian Stanley, Chris Hughes

I adore this one. I used to think that Mozza wasted verses by just throwing stories away and repeating stanzas but I've come to appreciate a lot of the power of the lyrics come from this.

I was in a bit of a Cure space earlier in the week so did this one too. Hope you like it!
Song: Friday I’m in Love
Artist: The Cure
Album: Wish (1992)
Songwriters: Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, Porl Thompson, Boris Williams, Perry Bamonte

Song: Just Like Heaven
Artist: The Cure
Album: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me
Fun fact: frontman Robert Smith has said it’s the best pop song The Cure ever wrote, inspired by a trip to the seaside with his future wife, Mary Poole.
🚨 Sabrina Carpenter new album alert 🚨
To celebrate, here’s my piano cover of Please Please Please 🎹💫, complete with new microphone setup.

Fun fact: The melody to Moondance was written first on a soprano saxophone before any lyrics were added.

Fun fact: Come Together was written as a campaign song for Timothy Leary’s 1969 run against Reagan. He got arrested. The Beatles kept the tune. Probably for the best.

Preparing for Osaka and looking forward to sharing the UK's exceptional food and drinks heritage. Craft, care, and future that tastes as good as the past.

My favourite photographer died over the weekend.
Here’s a piece I wrote about him for British Journal of Photography, citing his mastery of the form and the deep compassion in his work.

Country music as a genre is conservative with both a small and a big ‘C’. When country singers move beyond quite strict musical and storytelling parameters, they risk being ostracised, debarred.

Beatles albums are like "I'm going to give you one of the most soaring, emotional songs you've ever heard" and then the next track is like "doo doo doo! Mr Man and his Silly Hat went for a walk!"
In the 2000s, a genre of compilation albums emerged with titles like ‘Ibiza Lounge’ and ‘Chillout Summer Mix’. They transported you to a cocktail bar with expensive drinks and the worst people you are ever likely to meet.
