Today ā for a second time ā a federal court told Alabama that it drew unfair maps that dilute black representation.
The original ruling was clear, yet the State chose not to follow it.
Our democracy thrives when black voices are heard, not sidelined. We deserve fair maps.

Emmett Till should be 82 today.
His mother, Mamie Till-Mobley,
ensured that the world saw how gruesomely her 14 year-old child was murdered.
Racism isnāt disagreement.
Families grieve. Communities mourn.
Dreams wither. Humanity suffers.
People perish.
Remember Emmett Till.

Do you remember when you were growing up, do you remember how simple life was, how easy it felt? It was about faith, family, and country. We can have that again, but to do that, we must vote Joe Biden out. #RTM2023

It is unfortunate (by which I mean kind of nauseating) that Vanderbilt (disclosure: my employer), which brags incessantly about its project on democracy, will host a mayoral forum that is not free and open to community; $50 to attend. This is not what democracy looks like.
