AD In the second part of my two films I have been making with @coulthursts_brain_injury featuring inspriational figures from the worlds of TBI charities and rehabilitation, I learned how the team at @hobbsrehabilitation are helping people affected by TBI to recover and lead fulfilling lives. Watch the full film to discover how Helen Hobbs and Kirsti Pretty are working tirelessly to affect change by offering a range of services from physiotherapy, speech therapy and language therapy, to the early adoption of life-changing neuro technologies including robotics and VR. #HeadInjuryAwareness #BrainInjuryAwareness #TBIawareness #coulthursts #braininjuries #TBI #mTBI #HeadInjury  #concussions

AD During my own brain injury journey, I've met many people who have inspired me, but arguably none more so than the incredible @JanRock849 who founded the charity @matrixneuro after her son Callum suffered - and survived - catastrophic injuries, including TBI, during a climbing accident. As part of the series of films I have been making with @coulthursts to help others affected by brain injury, I was lucky enough to meet Jan and learn more about the incredible contribution that MATRIX Neurological is making in the field of brain injury, a powerful reminder that even in the darkest moments, there is always hope. #HeadInjuryAwareness #BrainInjuryAwareness #TBIawareness #coulthursts #braininjuries #TBI #mTBI #HeadInjury #concussions

AD On #WorldHeadInjuryDay, it was hugely gratifying to be able to offer hope to others affected by brain injury in my role as ambassador to @coulthursts by sharing my own personal story about some of the services they offer, including access to the latest scanning technology. Undergoing - and receiving the results of - cutting-edge scans that were not available to me when I suffered my own brain injury 15 years ago was a very personal journey, but one that I was happy to share through a number of media interviews. These scans - unavailable on the NHS - are essential in not only helping to identify previously undiagnosed traumatic brain injury (TBI), but also in helping those affected to understand more about the nature of their injury, how it may affect them, and what they can do to manage the best possible outcome. Special thanks to journalist @lisawalkersal1 for treating my story with such sensitivity. independent.co.uk/celebrity-… #WorldHeadInjuryAwarenessDay #HeadInjuryAwareness #BrainInjuryAwareness #TBIawareness #coulthursts #braininjuries #TBI #concussions Brain scan image supplied courtesy of Innovision IP

AD When I suffered my own brain injury 15 years ago, diagnostic technology was unable to predict the real effect that the injury would have on my life. I recently underwent cutting-edge brain scanning which revealed the full extent of my injury and gave me much more clarity. Earlier access to this technology could have helped me in my recovery. As brand ambassador for @coulthursts, I am helping raise awareness in identifying brain injury. AD Through my work with @coulthursts - the UK's only law firm 100% dedicated to supporting those affected by brain injury - I've been learning more about what sets them apart and how they can make a real difference to people's lives by funding the costs of rehabilitation up front before any compensation settlement is reached. Following on from my first film detailing what I've learned so far, here Chairman Dr Richard Newland and MD Philip Coulthurst explain in their own words what their inspiration was for setting up Coulthursts. coulthursts.co.uk/ #coulthursts #braininjuries #TBI #concussions

AD In 2010, I faced the biggest challenge of my life after being hit by a lorry in the US, sustaining a traumatic brain injury (TBI). In my new role as ambassador for the brain injury lawyers @coulthursts here is the first glimpse of me discussing my experiences and the wide variety of challenges I met following my accident, in a bid to provide hope and guidance to others affected by TBI. AD I'm delighted to be partnering with the brain injury lawyers @coulthursts to learn more about the unique work they are doing to help those affected by brain injury. My own journey back from brain injury was long, hard, and not linear, but one that I am incredibly proud of. As a result, I'm aware that the impacts of every brain injury are unique and can hugely differ from person to person. I’m looking forward to sharing with other people who have been affected by TBI that there is always hope, especially as new methods and services come on board, including those employed by Coulthursts and their network of diagnostic and rehabilitation experts.#coulthursts #braininjuries #TBI

..."As unnatural as it feels, this is nature...I'm lucky there is medicine that will fend this off for as long as possible." In my opinion he is more inspirational today than during his immense sporting career. Chapeaux X

Digesting the sad news about @chrishoy . As Olympic champion his event got cut from the schedule. He refocused, didn't complain, mastered different events & won 5 more gold medals. His message today...

Viktorija was immense, Karolien Florijn and Emma Twigg who finished ahead of her are generational talents. Great racing from all three. Viktorija is a flag bearer for those of us with epilepsy. @epilepsysociety
Lithuania's rower Viktorija Senkute proved that epilepsy is no barrier to winning an Olympic medal. Please share this important seizure first aid message so that everyone with epilepsy knows the world has got their back. @Paris2024 @LTeamOlympic @UCF_Rowing @jamescracknell 💜

So, so sad. Enjoyed watching him on the pitch, inspired by him off it and proof it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog. RIP

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme: moving more for mental health. It's not an exercise campaign, but highlighting the link between moving & mental health. I find rowing & riding a motorbike give me a special freedom. Great ride to the London 2012 rowing lake
