Oh, brother. They finally publish a special issue on men’s health, and the editorial immediately pivots to “toxic masculinities,” the manosphere, patriarchy, and intersectional theory. Even when they’re “addressing” men’s issues, there’s more blame and shame. We don’t need yet another round of attention that treats masculinity and men today and throughout history as the root problem.
The Lancet has just published a special issue on men's health. But don't get too excited. Below is the editorial that introduces the issue. It's the same old intersectional / critical theory drivel.
At least The Lancet is being honest. Their climate alarmism didn't work, so they have changed strategies. And you'll never guess what their new secret weapon is?
Feminism! 🤪
"The Lancet Countdown on health and climate change celebrated its tenth anniversary this week. The Countdown was preceded by two Lancet Commissions that sought to mobilise multiple disciplines within universities to address the climate crisis. The first Commission, in 2009, identified climate change as the greatest threat to global health this century. The second Commission, in 2025, took a different approach, describing climate change as the greatest opportunity for global health in the 21st century. The switch from threat to opportunity was deliberate. We wanted to instil a sense of agency in the health community about what they could reasonably achieve. Instead of painting a doomsday scenario, we wanted to excite readers about the co-benefits that would follow from acting to mitigate and adapt to global heating."
....
"Beyond a more promising attitude, we in the climate and health community might consider joining forces with other civil society movements. In Feminism for a World on Fire (2026), Natasha Walter points to “a growing chasm between the airy rhetoric of mainstream feminism and the deep crises that so many women are experiencing”. Feminism has taken a wrong turn, she suggests, associating itself more with individual advancement than collective change. Walter writes that “We need narratives that focus less on how I win on my own, and more on how we thrive together.” “Aspiration feminism” has turned “feminism from a political project into a self-help programme”. Her answer is to reconnect women to their environments. Her manifesto is a forceful call to action: “When heat rises, so does male violence. When droughts hit and crops fail, girls eat less than boys do. When conflicts arise over increasingly scarce resources, women suffer. The ecological crisis is amplifying every threat to women.” Walter makes a plea for feminism to ally itself with climate activism. Turn this proposition around. The climate movement might do more to ally itself with other social movements on which its success will depend—against inequality, racism, and nuclear conflict. The tenth anniversary of The Lancet Countdown is an opportunity to rethink the future in the face of an insidious, dangerous, and growing opposition."
In his latest Offline, Richard Horton discusses the 10th annual report from the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change and explores the shift from framing climate change as a threat to viewing it as an opportunity for global health.

"UN Women appears tone-deaf. Their bias has become almost a joke—one no one should be laughing at."
...
"Contacts who work inside the UN have told me that many staff quietly oppose UN Women’s divisive rhetoric and absurdities, just as many outside observers do, and they hope someone will rein them in."
...
"True gender equality cannot mean erasing one half of the population from the conversation or treating male challenges and deaths as less urgent."
...
"More people inside the UN need to wake up and insist that everyone be valued equally. Anything less is not equality but simply sexism and discrimination with a United Nations logo." @LisaBritton

Replying to @BillAckman @MIT
When universities, like MIT, repeatedly hire and promote for DEI, instead of hiring and promoting for aptitude and accomplishment, they inevitably become dominated by mediocrities--or worse--and ultimately cease being functioning universities.

This seems small but is an important change.

The timeline of increased contributions from China to the United Nations seems to correlate with the timeline of the United Nations' increased ideological adherence to communism / critical theory / intersectionality.

Executive Summary
"The American Psychological Association (APA) is the leading professional organization representing psychologists in the United States. As an accreditor, publisher, and standard-setter, the APA plays an influential role in shaping the psychology profession. Its members should be able to rely on the association to fulfill its core functions without perpetuating discrimination. Yet for Jewish psychologists who have raised concerns about antisemitism, the APA has too often failed to meet that responsibility.
In December 2025, under Chairman Tim Walberg’s (R-MI) leadership, the Education and Workforce Committee (the Committee) opened an investigation into antisemitism at the APA. The Committee found that over several years, radical activist-academics have successfully co-opted the APA to politicize the association and promote ideology that demonizes Israel, minimizes Hamas terrorism, and portrays Jews as white oppressors. Meanwhile, APA leaders have repeatedly failed to confront antisemitism within their own organization, alienating Jewish members and undermining confidence in an institution entrusted with setting professional standards.
This report details the Committee’s findings, beginning with internal communications that reveal troubling leadership failures in the aftermath of Hamas’ October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks. The report then examines how antisemitism has manifested across the association’s resolutions, listservs, newsletters, publications, and conferences."
New CDC data on ADHD diagnoses.
"From 2019 to 2025, the percentage of children and adolescents aged 5–17 years who had ever received a diagnosis of ADHD increased from 9.9% to 13.8%. The percentage of boys and girls with ADHD diagnoses increased throughout this period; a higher percentage of boys than girls had ever received a diagnosis of ADHD."

Published today in The Lancet.
"The manosphere, a diffuse commercial ecosystem and loose collection of online communities united by shared beliefs about masculinity, misogyny, and male victimisation, is an under-recognised determinant of health harms. This network has been implicated in considerable health harms: widespread mental health impacts, especially in young people; violence against women, girls, and gender minorities; and delegitimising help-seeking in boys and men. In this Viewpoint, we argue that the manosphere is best understood and addressed as a public health problem."
