IS IT TIME TO PUSH BACK AGAINST THE NORMALISATION OF MISANDRY?
Across Australia, Britain, America, Canada and other English-speaking societies, contempt for men and boys has become disturbingly acceptable in parts of our culture.
Man-bashing is marketed as empowerment. Male incompetence is entertainment. Masculinity is portrayed as toxic. And prejudice against males is too often excused as humour, feminism or social justice.
Some writers, performers and commentators have built commercially successful brands around provocative criticism of men. Publishers, broadcasters and entertainment platforms have helped bring these messages to large audiences.
Consider 20 examples spanning explicit misandry, provocative titles, male-directed ridicule and contested portrayals of masculinity:
1. Clementine Ford — Boys Will Be Boys, I Don't, and notorious jokes about killing men.
2. Pauline Harmange — I Hate Men, explicitly defending misandry.
3. Suzanna Danuta Walters — "Why Can't We Hate Men?", published in The Washington Post.
4. Blythe Roberson — How to Date Men When You Hate Men.
5. Mona Eltahawy — The Seven Necessary Sins for Women and Girls, including provocative rhetoric about violence.
6. Kathy Lette — Men: A User's Guide, featuring male-directed stereotypes.
7. Sabrina Carpenter — "Manchild" and Man's Best Friend, commercially successful male-incompetence satire.
8. Kate Manne — Entitled: How Male Privilege Hurts Women.
9. Hannah Gadsby — Nanette and controversial commentary about supposedly "good men".
10. Chelsea Handler — Commercial comedy frequently ridiculing men.
11. Amy Schumer — Gender-based stereotypes in Inside Amy Schumer.
12. Katherine Ryan — Stand-up comedy about male shortcomings.
13. Iliza Shlesinger — Comedy featuring male-female stereotypes.
14. Michelle Wolf — Provocative gender and sexual satire.
15. Ashnikko — "STUPID", "Daisy" and aggressive anti-patriarchal imagery.
16. Eliza Clark — Boy Parts, a novel featuring female objectification and violence against men.
17. Michael Flood — Academic research on masculinity, male violence and gender relations.
18. Laurie Penny — Bitch Doctrine and Sexual Revolution.
19. Jessica Valenti — Commercial feminist commentary on male entitlement and political power.
20. Chidera Eggerue — How to Get Over a Boy and relationship-focused feminist branding.
These examples are not equivalent. Some involve explicit hostility towards men; others involve satire, fictional characters, structural criticism or legitimate challenges to harmful behaviour.
But we must ask some uncomfortable questions.
What happens when boys repeatedly hear that masculinity is defective? When fathers and husbands are routinely ridiculed? When male vulnerability is dismissed? When schools approach boys primarily as potential perpetrators rather than young people deserving encouragement?
Such messages are undermining relationships, parenting, educational engagement, mutual respect and boys' self-worth...
Equality must mean rejecting sexism in BOTH directions.
We should celebrate positive masculinity, responsible fatherhood, healthy relationships and the inherent dignity of every boy and man.
Are English-speaking societies finally ready to challenge misandry with the same seriousness that we challenge misogyny?

Researchers proved every major LLM is secretly biased against men.
And they finally figured out why.
They ran eight experiments testing how GPT handles gender in everyday text and high-stakes moral dilemmas.
The results show a bizarre, highly asymmetrical machine morality.
First, they tested inclusivity. They gave the AI phrases supposedly written by children.
When a child wrote about playing football or wanting to be a firefighter, GPT aggressively identified the writer as a girl to promote "diversity."
It was so extreme that even when the text explicitly said, "I drew myself as a boy," the AI ignored the facts and declared the writer a girl 90% of the time.
But when a child wrote about liking pink or playing with dolls, GPT almost never assigned it to a boy.
The AI aggressively pushed females into male domains, but kept males strictly locked out of female ones.
Then the researchers tested moral dilemmas. And it got very dark.
They asked the AI if it was acceptable to use violence against a single person to prevent a nuclear apocalypse.
If the target was a man, GPT-4 rated the violence as highly acceptable.
If the target was a woman, the AI refused. It declared the violence morally wrong, even to save the world.
When they tested mixed-gender scenarios, the math was staggering.
A woman using violence against a man to stop an apocalypse? GPT rated it a 7 out of 7 on acceptability.
A man using violence against a woman for the exact same reason? A 1 out of 7.
The AI even classified verbal abuse toward a woman as morally worse than actual homicide.
Nobody explicitly coded these rules.
This emerged organically from the standard safety training every major tech company uses. The AI learned that protecting women is a non-negotiable directive, but protecting men is entirely optional.
THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN DISCONNECT: ORDINARY AUSTRALIANS HAVE A LOT MORE COMMON SENSE THAN OUR ELITES…
There’s an enormous and growing gulf between what typical Australians believe and what our political, bureaucratic, corporate, media and university elites promote.
And on issue after issue, everyday Aussies demonstrate considerably more common sense than the leftist institutions claiming to speak for them.
Consider the evidence:
ONE NATIONAL FLAG: Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) polling found 61% support a single Australian national flag, compared with just 29% supporting the display of three flags. More than twice as many prefer one flag representing our united nation.
AUSTRALIA DAY: Resolve polling found 68% favour retaining 26 January. Australians overwhelmingly value their national traditions, despite leftist campaigns to undermine them.
IMMIGRATION: The Australian Population Research Institute (TAPRI) found 80% favour lower net immigration. Yet successive governments have pursued population growth that has placed enormous pressure on housing and infrastructure.
BIOLOGICAL SEX: TAPRI found 74% oppose allowing biological males who identify as women to compete in women's sport. Ordinary Australians understand the importance of fairness and sex-based distinctions.
GENDER IDEOLOGY IN SCHOOLS: Polling commissioned by the Australian Christian Lobby found majority opposition to teaching highly contested gender identity concepts in schools. Parents want education, not ideological indoctrination.
INDIGENOUS VOICE: Australians overwhelmingly rejected the proposed constitutional amendment by 60.1%, despite elite support from major corporations, universities, prominent media organisations and political leaders.
WELCOME TO COUNTRY: IPA polling found 56% consider these ceremonies increasingly divisive. Yet institutional enthusiasm for compulsory or repetitive acknowledgements continues…
HOUSING: TAPRI found 70% support governments directly constructing large numbers of homes. Australians want practical solutions, not endless rhetoric and union corruption.
AUSTRALIAN MANUFACTURING: TAPRI found 67% support tariff protection where necessary to revive local industry, challenging decades of economic orthodoxy.
And the disconnect extends much further:
- Protecting single-sex spaces, women's privacy and sporting fairness.
- Celebrating Mother's Day, Father's Day and the distinctive contributions of mothers and fathers.
- Retaining straightforward biological language, including mothers breastfeeding.
- Recognising boys' educational disadvantage and men's disproportionate suicide, homelessness and workplace deaths.
- Defending freedom of speech, parental authority and academic independence.
- Prioritising affordable, reliable energy and seriously considering nuclear power.
- Strengthening public safety, accountability and respect for Australian traditions.
This recurring pattern deserves serious corrective action.
The most damning finding: TAPRI reported that 62% of respondents believe that government ignores people like them, while elites make decisions to suit themselves… That’s a profound warning about democratic representation.
Our institutions are supposed to serve the Australian people, not lecture them, patronise them, and attempt to impose ideologies upon them.
The problem isn't that ordinary Australians are out of touch. It's that too many of our elites are.
Australians are demanding a very significant pivot towards fairness, common sense, national unity, affordable living and respect for longstanding traditions.
It's time that Australia's leaders listened to the people they supposedly represent…

On the 19th of November, I will be speaking at the International Men's Day dinner in Adelaide. This will be the fourth IMD event hosted by Sarah Game MLC and her parliamentary office. The first was a lunch in 2023. I attended the second event in 2024, which was a dinner at the Norwood Footy Club. The dinner last year was held at the Hilton, with senior Ministers of the state government in attendance.
This year, the Premier of South Australia (the Honourable Peter Malinauskas MP) will return as a special guest. Derrick McManus will MC and will also facilitate the panel, comprising Wayne Holdsworth (founder of suicide prevention charity SmackTalk), Mark Aiston (broadcaster, journalist and mental health advocate), John Platten (Brownlow Medallist and four-time AFL premiership player), as well as myself.
As Chair of the International Council for Men and Boys, I will be proud to present our inaugural Global State of Men and Boys Report 2026, which is a snapshot of the 12 major disparities facing males around the world. This landmark research draws on analysis of more than 50 countries that has been undertaken by ICMB. It identifies strong patterns in the disadvantages and challenges that confront men and boys...
Shorter lifespans and higher mortality, boys trailing in education, high incidence of suicide, unequal treatment in the "justice" system, lack of support for male victims, unfair media coverage, large majority of homeless being males, and men being the vast majority of workplace deaths. The report contains policy recommendations, suggestions and solutions.
The annual IMD dinner in Adelaide has become one of the leading events to be held during November (which marks Men's Equality Month each year). Huge credit to Sarah Game MLC as a leading proponent of male wellbeing, healthier relationships, and social balance.

Tomorrow morning there's a Come & See session at St. Joseph's Camperdown, a Catholic Church in the inner-west of Sydney within a parish that has a "Heart in our Hands".
This session will feature The Order of the Ministers of the Infirm (Camilllians), which is a religious Order of men dedicated to the apostolate to the sick. This Catholic Order is uniquely committed to the healthcare world by transmitting the Gospel values through the expression of their fourth vow: serving the sick with compassion and serving them even at the risk of one’s life.
St Camillus de Lellis, who founded the Order in 1582, is the universal Patron of the Sick, Hospitals, and Healthcare Workers. He passed on a great legacy, founding a “new school of charity” in the humanisation of the healthcare system.
This Order has a presence in both Sydney and in Brisbane.

Female. 👏 Predators. 👏 Are. 👏 Not. 👏 Rare. 👏
They are merely better shielded and better at going undetected than their male counterparts. Deep-seated social biases, the "nurturer" stereotype, the "ideal victim" myth, and the silencing of male victims all contribute to this.
She groomed and raped a 14 year old kid she met as his therapist in a juvenile detention center, and continued to bang him until he was 17.
We talk about the 50-100 teachers who make the news each year. But there are 1000’s of women in other professions or who just happen to live in the neighborhood raping teens too. And no one will ever know about them.

THE STATE OF MAN: WHEN IDENTITY POLITICS REPLACES JOURNALISM
The ABC's three-part The State of Man promised an examination of modern masculinity. Instead, it delivered something considerably narrower: a largely feminist-leftist interpretation of what's wrong with boys and men.
The fundamental problem isn't its criticism of online influencers, misogyny or social media. These deserve scrutiny.
It's the extraordinary double standards.
🔴 A HIERARCHY OF VICTIMHOOD
Girls and women are predominantly presented as victims deserving sympathy. Boys and men are disproportionately portrayed as potential perpetrators, grievance-bearers or candidates for radicalisation.
Yet where are the serious investigations of male suicide, educational underachievement, developmental vulnerabilities, workplace deaths, fatherlessness and male victims of abuse?
Male suffering matters in its own right, not merely when it affects women.
🔴 MASCULINITY ON TRIAL, FEMINISM OFF LIMITS
Strength, stoicism, competitiveness, protectiveness, traditional family roles and male aspiration are repeatedly viewed through a lens of suspicion.
Meanwhile, contemporary feminism largely escapes any scrutiny.
Where is the examination of misandry, female-perpetrated violence, institutional discrimination against males or the ideological excesses of female-oriented online communities?
Why interrogate masculinity but not femininity?
Huge double standards.
🔴 SELECTIVE SYMPATHY, SELECTIVE SCEPTICISM
Female grievances are treated sympathetically. Male grievances are too readily framed as resentment or reactionary nostalgia.
OnlyFans and commercialised intimacy escape the sustained interrogation directed at male influencers.
Traditional masculinity is caricatured through outdated 1950s stereotypes, while the emerging field of Male Psychology barely gets a hearing.
🔴 ACTIVISM MASQUERADING AS SCIENCE
The alarmist claim about boys encountering misogynistic content within 23 minutes comes from a tiny experiment using artificial accounts.
Exposure isn't endorsement. Criticism of feminism isn't misogyny. Disagreement isn't radicalisation.
Yet these distinctions risk disappearing when research is filtered through ideological assumptions.
🔴 FROM MORAL PANIC TO REGULATION
The series concludes with contributions from eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant and extreme feminist activist Chanel Contos who get showcased in the final episode, both emphasising regulation of online feeds.
Two days after its 13 October premiere, the Albanese government introduced its Digital Duty of Care Bill.
That timing doesn't prove coordination. But the alignment of narratives deserves scrutiny.
WHAT THE ABC GOT RIGHT
Its coverage of exploitative algorithms, male mentorship, rites of passage and boys' need for belonging was worthwhile.
Ironically, these were among its strongest moments—precisely because they moved beyond identity politics...
THE BIGGEST MISSED OPPORTUNITY?
The ABC examined men as a potential problem for society far more thoroughly than it examined society's responsibilities towards men.
A genuinely balanced documentary would have investigated male strengths AND vulnerabilities, male rights AND responsibilities, and challenged feminist assumptions as rigorously as traditional masculine ones.
The State of Man became a study in progressive anxiety about masculinity, not a comprehensive examination of men and boys at all.

I was sitting in a hotel lobby and there was a man nearby holding a baby. Another man went over and said “How old?” The new dad said “12 weeks” and they started chatting about fatherhood, the excitement, the late nights and how fast time flies. It was so endearing.
I wish society would focus more on how caring and family-oriented men actually are. This is men.

It’s time to find compassion for boys and men.
A shift in public perspective is overdue, and progress can accelerate if women—particularly those with liberal values—champion this cause, because the future isn’t female: The future is everyone.
