I have a history PhD from Oxford and try to support all of my historical claims with strong evidence, particularly when regarding the president of the United States. But based on a comprehensive review of 250 years of American history, it is simply irrefutable that Donald Trump is by far the most corrupt president in U.S. history when it comes to using the office to enrich himself and his family. Here are the facts, and why there isn’t even a close second. Trump’s own federal financial disclosure reported more than $1.4 billion in 2025 income from family crypto ventures, including about $635 million from his meme coin and nearly $800 million from World Liberty Financial. Reuters separately estimated that the family added at least $2.3 billion to its fortune from crypto ventures after Trump returned to the White House. The clearest example of how Trump used the office came in May 2025. The 220 biggest holders of his meme coin were invited to dine with the sitting president at his private golf club. The coin jumped more than 60 percent when the dinner was announced. To get a seat at the table, you had to buy and hold a product that made the president money. Trump turned access to the presidency into a sales pitch. The foreign dealings raise an even more serious question. Four days before Trump took office, an investment vehicle backed by a UAE national security official agreed to pay $500 million for nearly half of World Liberty Financial. The Wall Street Journal reported that $187 million of the initial payment was directed to Trump family entities. Trump is clearly not the first United States president to be guilty of corruption, but the size and scale of his malfeasance put him in a league of his own. Under Ulysses S. Grant, whiskey distillers and federal officials pocketed money by cheating the government out of liquor taxes. Under Warren Harding, Interior Secretary Albert Fall took bribes in exchange for leasing federal oil reserves. Richard Nixon had a personal tax scandal, but his defining abuse of presidential power was the Watergate cover-up, an effort to protect his hold on office. LBJ’s political connections helped turn a small Texas radio station into a family broadcasting empire. By September 2025, less than eight months into Donald Trump’s second term, he and his family were roughly $5 billion richer than they had been around the 2024 election, according to Forbes. In comparison, a reasonable estimate is that all 44 other U.S. presidents combined added about $250 million to their wealth while in office, adjusted to today’s dollars. That puts the Trump family’s gain at about 20 times the estimated combined total for all other presidents over the course of two and half centuries. The election results were, at least in part, a clear repudiation of this staggering and historically unprecedented corruption. Congress now has a mandate to investigate, follow the money, pursue the recovery of all ill-gotten gains, and enact enforceable safeguards so that no president can ever again use the White House as a vehicle for personal enrichment.

WHO THE HELL DID MELANIA TRUMP WELCOME TO THE WHITE HOUSE YESTERDAY? Well, this gets better. And by “better,” I mean a spectacular fucking disaster. Yesterday, Melania Trump publicly thanked Russian official Yana Lantratova for her humanitarian work. How sweet. One tiny detail: Lantratova is under US sanctions, and Ukrainian authorities have accused her of involvement in the abduction and forced transfer of children from occupied Kherson. But wait. That's just the appetizer. Lantratova also happens to be co-chair of the International Club of National Unity, a Russian organization established in 2025 to promote Moscow's interests abroad under the charming banner of “traditional spiritual and moral values.” And what a delightful little club it is! Her fellow co-chair is Mykola Azarov, Ukraine's former prime minister, who fled to Russia after Euromaidan. Its leadership includes Aleksandr Dugin, the ideologue of Russian imperialism; Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat forces; senior Kremlin officials, propagandists, and assorted professional Putin enthusiasts. Now comes the really juicy part. The club's published membership list includes Sergey Panteleyev, identified by the European Union as an officer of GRU Unit 54777, the Russian military intelligence outfit described by The Washington Post as a nerve center of Moscow's psychological warfare operations. And sitting on the club's presidium? Aleksandr Ionov, a man the US Justice Department charged with orchestrating an FSB-directed influence operation involving American political organizations, Russian propaganda, and interference in US elections. Yes. That American Justice Department. The international cast is equally entertaining. The club has published the names of Tucker Carlson, Jeffrey Sachs, Scott Ritter, and former CIA analyst Larry Johnson in various roles or membership lists. Carlson's name later disappeared; Ritter has participated in club events, while Johnson remains listed on its presidium. A name appearing on a Russian organization's website does not, by itself, establish someone's consent to membership. And for a little extra flavor, there's Viktor Bout, the notorious Russian arms dealer once imprisoned in the United States. This isn't some secret dossier leaked by an intelligence agency. THE RUSSIANS PUT THE FUCKING ROSTER ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE. The club produces propaganda programming, organizes international events, and promotes Russian political narratives abroad. Researchers were examining its intelligence connections well before yesterday's White House circus. So let's appreciate the full absurdity. At an event supposedly devoted to helping Ukrainian civilians suffering under Russian occupation, the First Lady of the United States publicly honored a Russian official accused of involvement in the forced transfer of Ukrainian children. An official who also co-chairs a Kremlin-aligned influence network whose published roster includes a GRU officer and a man charged by the US government with working for the FSB. And Melania thanked her for bringing hope and dignity to victims of the war. You couldn't write this shit as satire. The writers would reject it for being too fucking ridiculous. Apparently, the new White House humanitarian protocol is simple: Accused of taking Ukrainian children? Come on in! Connected to a propaganda club featuring Russian military intelligence? Lovely! Under American sanctions? Don't be shy! Welcome to the White House. Would you like a medal with your propaganda?

Instead of taking a lesson from Tuesday's resounding election results, Trump is just doubling down, replacing poop with nuclear waste. Stephen Miller is even more extreme, more white nationalist, more corrupt, more racist. Essentially, Goebels is in charge now.
Trump: "I am pleased to announce that Mr. Stephen Miller, the current Deputy Chief of Staff of the Trump Administration, and one of my most trusted advisors, will become the Chief of Staff starting Monday, November 9, 2026. Susie Wiles, who has done an outstanding job, will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation. I want to thank her for her service as Chief of Staff — She has done a great job! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

Presidents certainly have the right to pick their Chiefs of Staff, but selecting Stephen Miller shows that Donald Trump has learned nothing from the message Americans sent him in this election. Miller is the architect of some of the worst policies of this presidency, from the cruel and chaotic ICE enforcement to the tariffs jacking up your costs. Promoting him isn’t only bad for this Administration, it’s bad for the American people.

Patriotic American Veterans Are Coming After Pete Hegseth — and Demanding Harshest Punishment Possible: "Those Are War Crimes" Veterans and senior officers purged from the Pentagon are done with half-measures. Firing Pete Hegseth is the bare minimum. As the calls for his removal grow louder, they are demanding that Congress go further: impeach him, convict him, and permanently bar him from ever holding public office again. "There is no pathway back to an effective and respected DOD with Hegseth as the secretary of war," said one senior officer forced out under his watch. "Many of us blame Congress almost as much as we blame him. The government has failed the military, and impeaching Hegseth is the first, necessary step toward restoring any faith or confidence." The indictment against him is long and ugly. Retired Rear Adm. Michael Smith, founder of National Security Leaders for America, says the case extends far beyond the war with Iran. He points to the deadly boat strikes against civilians in the Caribbean — strikes he flatly calls war crimes, which is to say murder — and to the abrupt resignation of the Southern Command commander. "Was it because he was given an illegal order and he didn’t want to follow that?" Smith asked. The failures do not stop there. Veterans groups have condemned Hegseth's refusal to evacuate military families from Bahrain before the fighting with Iran began, leaving spouses and children in harm's way when Iran struck the Navy's largest base in the Middle East. They have also highlighted the reported conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and the targeted removal of senior officers who are women and people of color. Hegseth has not merely been a bad secretary. He has been a destructively criminal one. Simply letting him leave with no accountability should not and cannot happen in a country like the United States of America.

This is Jon Ossoff. He just got reelected in Georgia and then cooked Trump’s intelligence nominee in under 2 minutes. Asked a simple question: who won 2020? The nominee folded. Ossoff didn’t. No spin. No fear. Just pure pressure. This is what Democrats who actually want to win look like. Watch it. Then tell me if you still think he’s “too young.”

Want to know why I'm angry at @realDonaldTrump? So @NewYorker just ran a piece about how DC Republicans are running for the exits. And amid all the sneering was this quote: "We took over and we just kind of fucking botched it. The Democrats didn’t create some bullshit. We had a generational opportunity and we basically squandered it. Look at the coalition we had in 2024. Those people might not ever vote again in their lives." Exactly. Trump could have tried to KEEP the promises he made, to make the government fairer and leaner, make medical care more affordable (not just lard it with more subsidies), make housing easier to build, fight the bureaucracies that make every level of school far more expensive and inefficient than it should be, etc. A lot of middle-class and lower-middle-class people really believed he would fight for them. And would he have won all those fights? No, of course not. But he would have made real progress - the Republicans controlled the White House and Congress. Instread he didn't even try. He concentrated on getting rich and ballrooms and the reflecting pool, the stupidest, vainest possible stuff, along with starting foreign wars, the one thing he'd promised he wouldn't do. Now, two years later, all those people think the system is MORE corrupt, that Trump only cares about himself and getting richer and the billionaires who can help him to do it. And they're right to think so. They are angrier and more dispossessed than ever. And that's bad for the United States, bad for our future, bad for my kids and yours. And it is one man's fault.
The old man was treated unfairly in 2016, when they tried to crown Hillary 2018, when they pretended he was a Russian spy 2020, when they pretended Covid was the plague 2024, when they prosecuted him for the crime of beating Hillary But there’s nothing unfair about the ass-whipping he is about to take. He deserves every inch of it and more. This time around he has become the grifting incompetent doddering fool they said he was, he has leaned in to the caricature so far he’s fallen over and taken the Republican Party with him. I take no joy in writing this, I voted for him in 2024 and hoped for better. But the next two years will be brutal, and he has only himself and the thieving courtiers he installed around him to blame. Happy Election Day, El Hombre Naranja
