I mean, it is technically generating data on its own, the "prompt" per say is the frame that needs the lines drawn on it. The way I look at it, is the algorithm was trained on in-house data (so no stealing), it is run off in-house resources (so all resources are paid for and it's not a big enough operation to require extreme cooling methods that steal water), and it's not replacing artists, it's just a tool used by them; this makes it one of the best use cases for AI imo. But it's important to break the algorithm into what it's doing to properly label it. I think everyone is so up in arms about this because they're so used to AI being used for shitty reasons, so they're not really able to reconcile with one of the few good uses
