Mission begins with a kind of explosion of joy. The news that the rejected and crucified Jesus is alive is something that cannot possibly be suppressed. It must be told.

What the cross is all about. One of the most beautiful statements I’ve ever read.

How to approach Church services differently this Easter:
1. Prepare your heart before you arrive.
2. Read the crucifixion & resurrection accounts beforehand.
3. Invite someone to come w/ you that needs the truth of the resurrection.
4. Worship in the car on the way.
5. Sing like the resurrection is true & matters.
6. Take notes because God is speaking through His Word.
7. Live like the Resurrection is still true on Monday.
I not only wonder this of "Christian Influencers" online but also of any conference speakers, consultants, non-profit leaders, or the like. It is always a test to me if someone is rooted in a local church or not. If not, I typically don't pay attention.
I wonder about some of those who pass for “Christian influencers” and Defenders of the Faith on X. What are their home churches? How regularly do they attend or how do they participate in the life of their local church? Is there a pastor or priest there who knows them? Where are they in their Bible reading plan? Do they have a life group?
First as a Christian, then as a father of a black daughter, friend of many black brothers/sisters, and pastor of a growing diverse church, it breaks my heart to see evil racist tropes being spread by our president. I realize it has been taken down but should never have been there
WOW, had not heard this story but that is truly incredible.
On this day in 1850, a blizzard in Colchester, England, changed the course of church history.
A 15-year-old Charles Spurgeon, burdened by the weight of his sin, was blocked by the snow from reaching his usual place of worship. He ducked into a small Primitive Methodist Chapel on Artillery Street just to escape the storm.
With the regular minister snowed in, a simple layman, traditionally remembered as a humble deacon, stood up to fill the pulpit. He lacked formal education and eloquence, but he had a text: Isaiah 45:22.
"Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else."
The preacher looked directly at the young Spurgeon and shouted: "Young man, look to Jesus Christ! Look! Look! Look! You have nothing to do but to look and live!"
In that moment, the clouds parted for young Charles Haddon Spurgeon. He later said, "I saw at once the way of salvation." The "Prince of Preachers" was born out of a simple look of faith on a snowy January morning, 176 years ago, today.
Whatever storm you are in today, the message remains the same: Look to Christ and live!
