What the actual fuck does people with ADHD receiving PIP have to do with army numbers?
And how many times do we have to say this: YOU DO NOT RECEIVE PIP FOR SPECIFIC DIAGNOSES. Itβs based on how your condition(s) affect your daily life.
And many of that number will have other conditions too.
The Torygraph know exactly what theyβre doing.
So sick of this shit.
The number of people receiving personal independence payments (PIPs) because of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) passed 100,000 for the first time in April, Department for Work and Pensions data show.
In the same month, there were 82,000 soldiers in the British Army, despite the threat posed by Russia and Iran.
On Wednesday, Andy Burnham revealed that he would not cut welfare to fund the military and said that supporting national security could not come βat the expense of social securityβ ‡οΈ

βIf women kill their children due to hormones they canβt be allowed in high pressure jobsβ
Men kill their families every 5 days
They kill because theyβre mad, theyβre drunk, theyβre jealous, their football team lost
Itβs treated as a nothing event because weβre so used to it!

Disabled people do not owe the public an explanation for every adaptation, benefit claim or support need. Accessibility is a right, not something that requires permission. #ChallengeTheNarrative

The 'Get Ed' steamroller is grinding on. It's now moved onto how Ed is not really a Jewish Jew because he can't have ever experienced antisemitism (because secular Jews don't get antisemitic stuff thrown at them, presumably???? (Wot?!)).

Imagine this- youβre referred to a neurologist for a multitude of symptoms, but the referral says βevaluate for migraineβ. The forms say 1 symptom only. So for 3 years my progressive neurological condition went undiagnosed bc the neurologist βdidnβt want to step on PCPβs toesβ by doing a full work up. Our system is a cluster fuck

Disability didnβt suddenly become βcoolβ. Disabled people became more visible, and women started refusing to suffer quietly.
From having my symptoms dismissed as a teenager to being warned at 52 that Iβd βnever get outβ of my wheelchair, I know how damaging those attitudes are.
My wheelchair didnβt make me disabled; it gave me back access to my life. And yes, I own a bloody expensive pink walking stick, but it only comes out for special occasions. π©·

Being accused of having bought followers is very weird. What could I possibly gain from that? I have built a community of real people who like me and each other, and I am very proud of that fact.

Two ITV-commissioned daytime programmes discussing disability benefits, and once again, disabled people are left dealing with the consequences.
On Loose Women, PIP was wrongly described as being for people unable to work because of physical or mental health conditions.
It isnβt. PIP is not an out-of-work benefit. You can work and claim PIP.
Then Jeremy Vine gives us βentitlementβ, young people, mental health and, unbelievably, sticks again.
Debate welfare reform all you like, but surely national broadcasters have a responsibility to get the basic facts right first?
If you're going to talk about PIP, please learn what PIP actually is.

It makes no sense as we already do it.
I "swap" my PIP for disability equipment.
I "swap" my PIP for social care.
I "swap" my PIP for other in person support.
I "swap" my PIP for accessible food.
It's called money and paying for exactly what I need

Since it's inception the RNLI have lost a minimum of 438 crew attempting to saving lives at sea. More depending on how you define that.
Every single time a volunteer answers that call they show more courage than any of the armchair warriors shouting at their keyboards.

Disability is not all or nothing. Many disabled people work while managing pain, fatigue, mobility issues, mental health conditions, or fluctuating impairments. Employment does not cancel disability.β¨#AxeVineOn5
