Everyone talks about the future of payments. But who’s listening to the people actually accepting them?
At the Merchant Advisory Group (MAG) Summit in Singapore, we turned the microphone towards merchants.
And three conversations stood out.
Fraud and scams. Who carries the risk when things go wrong, and who is responsible for fixing it?
Agentic commerce. When AI starts making purchases on our behalf, who authorises the payment, and who is accountable?
Local payment methods. Why is accepting payments across markets still so complicated when paying has become so simple?
Three very different challenges.
One common thread.
Merchants don’t just want more payment innovation. They want the payments ecosystem to solve problems that matter to their businesses.
That’s why EPAA and MAG brought merchants together. Not just to discuss what’s next, but to hear what needs fixing now.
Because the future of payments cannot be designed without the people who accept them.
Here’s a question: Are we building the payments industry around merchants’ needs, or asking merchants to adapt to what the industry builds?

By 2030, neural integration may become one of the biggest technological revolutions in human history.
From thought-to-text communication ➡️ to cognitive enhancement ➡️ to direct human-AI interaction
The next interface may not be a screen anymore.
It may be the human brain itself.
🧠 Key shifts already accelerating:
1️⃣ Non-invasive BCIs
Higher-resolution neural sensing without surgery.
2️⃣ Thought-to-text communication
Real-time decoding of human intent and speech.
3️⃣ Cognitive enhancement
AI-assisted memory, focus & neurofeedback systems.
4️⃣ Medical transformation
Restoring mobility, vision & communication for millions.
5️⃣ Human-AI symbiosis
Direct neural interaction with intelligent systems.
⚠️ But alongside innovation comes a new era of ethical questions:
• Neural privacy
• Cognitive security
• Identity & autonomy
• Ownership of brain data
The future of AI may not just surround humanity.
It may integrate with it.
🎯2030 will likely mark the beginning of the neural era.

The upcoming phase of India's consumer internet story is about platforms expanding beyond their core businesses.
Take Flipkart Group, for example. Flipkart Minutes is competing with Instamart in just 2 years, Myntra leads in online fashion, Cleartrip is no. 2 player in online travel, SuperMoney growing rapidly.
Now, with reports of Flipkart testing food delivery, the group's products and services will further expand their offerings in the digital ecosystem.

Some businesses become so familiar that we stop thinking about the scale behind them.

No Trade Without Payments.
But how often do we ask merchants what actually needs fixing?
EPAA is at #MAGPaymentsSummit Singapore, 20–21 Oct, to bring merchant realities into conversations on payments, regulation, cross-border friction and agentic commerce.
Let's connect.
Waterfall built the car.
Agile improved the journey.
AI imagined flying machines and spaceships.
And somehow, we ended up with the same blue car.
Are we using tomorrow's technology to reinvent products or just build yesterday's products faster?

Who do you think about when you see the video? Just who?
Many names come to my mind but this will trigger a riot on my TL
The most dystopian fitness video on the internet just dropped. 🚨💀
Paris is literally burning, protesters are shutting down the streets, and this woman is casually jogging past a burning barricade like it’s a treadmill session. She is literally running through thick black smoke because hitting her daily step count is a higher priority than whatever revolution is happening around her.
Pure, unfiltered main character syndrome. The absolute disrespect to the entire riot.
