My favorite shot released by NASA so far during the Artemis I mission is not of the Moon but of Earth, as Orion was 57,000 miles away and captured this pale blue dot hanging in the vastness of space. It rivals, IMO, the remarkable Earthrise photo taken during Apollo 8.

Earthset. 🌎
@NASA_Orion captured this shot of Earth “setting” while the spacecraft passed close to the Moon. Nearly 270,000 miles (430,000 km) away, #Artemis I will soon surpass Apollo 13’s record-setting distance from Earth in a spacecraft designed to carry astronauts.

ALT The Orion spacecraft captures an image of Earth setting behind the Moon. The metallic grey and white structure of the spacecraft dominates the left side of the image. To the far right, the dusty grey surface of the Moon looms large beside the small blue and white Earth in the far distance. The background of the image is the dark blackness of space. No stars are visible as the high contrast of the Moon and Orion spacecraft wash out the distant stars. Credit: NASA

Sometimes you just need to stop and watch the clouds roll by... on Mars.
Cloudy days are rare here because the atmosphere is so thin and dry, but I've been keeping my cameras peeled and wanted to share some recent pictures with you. go.nasa.gov/3vuWQb2 (1/4)
