Colorado early ballots right now (as of Oct. 20, reported Oct. 21):
📦 585,485 ballots already turned in
🔵 Democrats (registered): 194,551
🔴 Republicans (registered): 142,162
⚪ Unaffiliated: 242,319
If we assume the expected 60-65% of those Unaffiliated ballots go Dem and 35-40% go Rep:
🔵 Dem-leaning total: ~352,000 (about 60%)
🔴 Rep-leaning total: ~227,000 (about 39%)
That’s roughly a 125,000-ballot head start for the blue side on the ballots already sitting in the pile. 😬
Most people still haven’t voted. Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Nov. 3 (drop box or in-person after Oct. 26 is the safe play).

The story of Edward Nalwamba, the 78-year-old Ugandan pastor detained by ICE, deserves some important context.
As Christians, we support missionaries serving worldwide. We know pastors and missionaries who navigate complicated immigration systems, obtain visas, renew permits, and follow the laws of the countries where they minister.
Nalwamba entered America legally in 2002, overstayed his visa, failed to comply with orders to leave, and repeatedly refused to cooperate with deportation efforts. A federal removal order became final in 2010 - 16 years ago!
His decisions raise serious questions about personal responsibility.
By disregarding immigration requirements, Nalwamba exposed himself to detention and deportation, potentially jeopardizing the very ministry he sought to continue.
There may be extraordinary circumstances, particularly in countries violently persecuting Christians, where believers face difficult moral choices about obeying immigration laws.
But religious service does not automatically exempt someone from those laws.
As a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he is required to obey lawful government orders according to Romans 13. He seems to be blatantly violating those.
This is 78-year-old Pastor Edward Nalwamba.
He fled persecution in Uganda for his pro-democracy beliefs and has spent decades living and preaching in America.
ICE detained him for 13 months.
Today, ahead of his release, our staff visited the detention facility and asked GEO staff to let him call his caretakers and provide a wheelchair to get him to his ride home. He cannot walk.
GEO staff assured us they would do both. They failed to deliver on either.
No phone call.
No wheelchair.
No human decency.
There is no excuse for this cruelty. None.
While we are celebrating Pastor Nalwamba’s release, we will not stop holding those responsible for this accountable.

I appreciate the media in all its forms. A free press is essential to a free society. But sadly, public trust in the media has eroded, especially when people see bias replacing objective reporting.
What many people don’t know is that I worked for NBC News as a teenager. Before that, I worked in radio. I learned how news articles were written, how anchors introduced video stories, and how critical it was to get the facts right. I grew up watching Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, and others who shaped the news landscape of their day.
Journalism should present the facts and let people decide for themselves. Today, too often, it seems the pursuit of clicks, views, and sensational sound bites takes priority over telling the full story.
I’m not a career politician, and I’m not here to play political games. I believe in telling the truth. And when someone tries to push a false narrative by taking words out of context or leaving out critical information, we’re going to push back with the facts.
Today, we had our own cameras rolling, too. I can’t say whether the reporter appreciated that, but we did it anyway. Why? Because the public deserves to see what actually happened, not just what someone else chooses to edit, air, or leave out.
With just two weeks left, we’re releasing two videos to give you a fuller picture of today’s encounter and the context you may not see in a broadcast.
Don’t settle for a headline when you can see the full story. Watch for yourself. Then decide.
