Family member is ‘okay’ now but had a hip replacement in mid 30s (two broken femurs), and suffers with the effects after badly broken feet, elbow, collar bone, scarring, no sense of smell etc. Lost her ability to do her RAF job but not her sense of humour & lives life to the full
3/3 ban. Drink driving is never ok. He’s lucky enough to have not hurt anyone, but sometimes people don’t get a second chance and it’s often not the drunk person who has consequences. Whether at the track or not athletes are in a position of influence & need to remember that.
2/3 Because it can ruin the lives of others. A family member was hit by a drunk driver. Too many injuries to list, but a skull & face rebuild plus major leg trauma to name a few. She had a 5year old daughter at the time, consequences were huge. He got a cut on the nose & a short
1/3 After reading all the stuff on here about a certain rider and drink driving - I’ll never understand the flippant attitude of some. As an athlete you are a role model to others end of. This is a topic that’s well publicised on what is & isn’t acceptable..it’s close to my heart
