Buckner desperately wanted to be part of a winner this year, now gets the chance - his original chance.
Trade: Colts are sending three-time Pro-Bowl DT DeForest Buckner back to the 49ers, the team that made him a 2016 first-round pick before dealing him to Indianapolis in 2020, per me and @rapsheet. Now Buckner returns to San Francisco, fortifying the 49ers defensive line.
The Packers, Bears and Eagles were among teams that showed varying levels of interest in Quenton Nelson, per source. His market was strong.
Several teams inquired on Nelson, which expedited his market.
Trade: Colts have agreed to send eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, per me and @rapsheet. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts are opting to get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency.
But an all-time Colt now moves on to the Seahawks.

In the offseason, the Vikings challenged J.J. McCarthy to improve his throwing versatility -- more clubs in the bag. Not just the fastball, but more layering of the ball.
He lost the QB battle, but Minnesota noticed he improved in that area. Showed Sunday -- with a different team.
