🚨🚨HEARTWARMING UPDATE🚨🚨
Former #NFL defensive end Devon Still broke down in tears after seeing his daughter Leah working her FIRST JOB at Chick-fil-A this week.
Leah was diagnosed with cancer as a young child and underwent chemotherapy. During her treatments, she rarely wanted to eat anything unless it was Chick-fil-A.
Now, 12 years later, Leah is cancer-free and has started her first job at the very restaurant that helped her get through those difficult days.
Devon shared that he pulled up to pick her up from work and saw her helping a customer. He immediately became emotional.
“Now I’m sitting in the car with tears pouring down my face.”
Still also revealed that doctors once told him how far Leah’s cancer had spread, and he began accepting the possibility that she might not survive.
“To go from that to this, I can’t explain what I’m feeling. Just know I’m grateful.”
Leah still orders the exact same Chick-fil-A meal she loved during chemotherapy.
THIS IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT.

Interesting new study by the Concussion Legacy Foundation.
The study involved 2,362 cases, BUT only 396 of them donated their brains to science.
Researchers say the 75% is "estimated prevalence."
I'd really love to see a study done of 396 people who NEVER played any contact sports.
Concussion Legacy Foundation has never done that.
Why not? It would STRENGTHEN their argument about football causing CTE.
Why not study 396 baseball players? Or basketball players?
Then compare that data vs football.
THAT will tell us how dangerous football is.
Until then, all of these studies are simply in a "vacuum."
There is NO other number to compare them too.

How about just not have staff meetings ever, unless it is a significant emergency? I had three full staff meetings a year: pre-planning, first day back to start second semester, post planning. Nothing fell apart without full faculty meetings. It really can be done.

“I was tired of being the top passing offense in the nation and not having a lot of championships to show for it and I believe you’ve got to run the football to win championships at a consistent level”

Everybody wants a coach who holds players accountable.
Until that accountability reaches their own child.
Then suddenly the coach is too hard on kids.

Games are won and lost up front. You can recruit and load your roster with skill guys, but if you can’t win the line of scrimmage, you won’t be able to win at the highest level.
Jason Beck couldn't call a middle school offense
Never been a fan of bringing on extra OL unless that’s your identity. If you’re a run first team. That’s the issue with UM offense. It has zero identity and that starts with the play caller. You have to design an offense around the strengths of the players you have and adapt your scheme to that. Today was very frustrating as UM has talent but it doesn’t appear cater to the strengths of the personnel. The offense seldom threatens the defense downfield vertically. The lack of QB movement to sprint or boot on 1/2 down is a head scratcher. Lastly, when you insert an extra OL in the game you are giving the defense one less player to worry about in the pass game. Situationally that’s fine from time to time but UM leans WAY too much on it.

Tom Brady: “You need coaches that push you outside your comfort zone because that’s how you grow and that’s how you develop self confidence and self esteem. They push you to deal with failure.”

“Be responsible for your own self determination, that’s accountability.”
Great players understand that being coached is an opportunity.
Getting better is a responsibility.

You know what holds a lot of athletes back? Worrying too much about what everyone else is getting.
One thing I learned over 20 years of coaching:
The players who improved the most weren’t always the most talented.
They were the ones who stopped worrying about what they weren’t getting and started making the most of what they had.
Tom Brady nails it here.
Control your attitude. Bring energy. Be prepared.
The moment you stop pointing fingers and start looking in the mirror is the moment you start getting better.
