โFor the people who want to change the NCAA Tournament-who aren't operating in good faith for the betterment of that event-a similar greed still exists.โ This. Tourneys next grabโฆformat, accessโฆNCAA run by FBS fb. This must change.
An oddly overlooked reality of the huge news in college sports this week: When it came time to settle a multi-billion-dollar lawsuit, college basketball/the NCAAT saved the dayโnot college football. Yet hoops will still take a huge hit. How terribly ironic.cbssports.com/college-basketโฆ
Disappointing decision from NCAA. Denying any conference automatic access to any NCAA sponsored/managed championship is a slippery slope.
Inbox: Big change to bid process for postseason NIT: INDIANAPOLIS โ The NIT Board of Managers has announced changes for the 2024 National Invitation Tournament that impact how teams qualify for the NIT.
For the 2024 NIT, conference regular season champions that do not win their conference tournament or are not otherwise selected to the NCAA Division I Menโs Basketball Championship will not receive an automatic bid to the NIT.ย Instead, the NIT will guarantee two teams (based on the NET rankings) from each of six conferences (Atlantic Coast, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and Southeastern). The top two teams in the NET rankings not qualifying for the NCAA menโs basketball tournament from each conference, regardless of won-loss record, will be selected.ย Additionally, the 12 teams automatically selected will be guaranteed the opportunity to host a game in the first round of the NIT.
Proud of my friend Judge Jen for championing this program.
