Kim Yo Jong inspected the inter-Korean border with Marshal Pak Jong Chon, North Korea’s top military official.
Pak ordered troops to “counterattack immediately” if South Korean forces threaten their safety.
It comes weeks after a land mine blast injured three in the South.
🚨🇰🇵 Meanwhile in North Korea… meet Kim Yo-jong, Kim Jong-un’s powerful sister.
She may wear a smile, but many wonder how ruthless she could be if she ever took power. With Kim’s daughter being prepared as a potential successor, could this smiling woman become her biggest threat if Kim Jong-un dies?
👀 Some speculate she could be even more hard-line than her brother. The real question is: will she step aside for her niece, or fight for the throne?
🚨🇰🇵 REPORT: Kim Jong Un’s daughter could face a brutal succession battle with her own aunt.
According to The Telegraph, South Korean intelligence believes Kim Ju Ae is being prepared to lead North Korea, but her aunt, Kim Yo Jong, could emerge as a powerful rival with military backing.
Former South Korean ambassador Ra Jong Yil warned that Kim Yo Jong could seize the opportunity if she believed she had a realistic chance of becoming the country’s next leader.
“If Kim Yo Jong believed that she had a chance of becoming the top leader, then she would take it,” Ra told The Telegraph.
👀 Could North Korea’s next leadership battle pit niece against aunt in a fight for control of the nuclear-armed state? 🇰🇵

Most countries don't offer to pay for someone else's military base. Poland is doing exactly that. It has been pushing hard for a permanent U.S. base on its territory, and it has put billions of its own dollars on the table to make it happen.
Poland formally requested a new permanent American base in June 2026, and the talks have moved quickly since. Polish President Karol Nawrocki has gone as far as calling the base "confirmed," and U.S. officials have said there's been "major progress." That said, Washington has not announced a final decision, and no location has been named yet, so the deal isn't signed, it's close, according to the Polish side.
The part that stands out is who pays. Poland has signaled it is willing to cover much of the cost itself. Polish officials have put their share at more than 15 billion zloty, roughly 3.4 billion euros, and a Bloomberg report placed the figure as high as 4.4 billion dollars. For a country that sits directly on the border with Russia's Kaliningrad territory and with Belarus, a permanent American presence is clearly worth paying for.
The base would likely house a full brigade, somewhere between 3,000 and 5,000 U.S. troops, with Poland's deputy defense minister calling 4,500 the most realistic number. Over time, Poland would like to see as many as 15,000 American troops in the country. Right now, roughly 6,500 to 7,000 rotate through on a non-permanent basis.
Plenty is still undecided, the exact location, the final cost split, even the name (Poland's president has floated calling it "Fort Trump"). But the direction is clear, and it's unusual. In a long-running debate about whether America's allies pay their fair share, Poland isn't asking the U.S. to spend more. It's offering to spend its own money to keep American troops close.
