Now posted on the @DailyMemphian preps page: St. Benedict had its three, four and five hitters coming up in the bottom of the seventh Friday. It’s the last thing TRA coach Johnie Sanfratello wanted to see. But he’s got an apex competitor in Lanie Howe. dailymemphian.com/section/sp…

Great recognition for Nix and TRA. As near as I can tell, he’s the leading rusher in the state.

Everyone knows I’m for more opportunity for kids, not less. That being said, I really hope the TSSAA’s sanctioning of flag football doesn’t take girls away from sports like track and softball at schools that might already be struggling with numbers in those sports.

The softball state championship games will now be played at MTSU’s softball field! One game at a time just like the baseball format is done. Less of a “travel ball” type environment and much more of a true “state championship” feeling to it. This is long overdue!
