Head of the Criminology and Criminal Justice department at the University of Limpopo, Professor Witness Maluleke says KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General #NhlanhlaMkhwanazi reported offer of a top post within the Hawks should not be seen as a promotion.
Maluleke says Mkhwanazi should instead be considered for the position of National Police Commissioner or Deputy National Police Commissioner, arguing that he has demonstrated his ability to investigate crime and supervise investigations.
He says placing #Mkhwanazi in the Hawks would limit his authority, as he would have to report to other senior officials within the South African Police Service.
Maluleke says the offer could possibly also be an attempt to sideline Mkhwanazi from ongoing investigations that involve senior individuals such as suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, and former Crime Intelligence deputy head Major-General Feroz Khan.
He says the country should therefore be concerned about how someone who has demonstrated the ability to investigate high level crimes, could be moved to a position that may prevent him from continuing with those investigations. MRF

Forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan has threatened urgent court action to block the appointment of KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi as the new national head of the Hawks.
O’Sullivan warned acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia that his organisation, Forensics for Justice, would challenge the appointment unless government suspends the process or opens it to public scrutiny.

Nomvalo either has a remarkably short memory, or he is simply an introvert. He failed to preserve Floyd’s dignity because he was far too eager to ascend to the position of Secretary-General. Floyd, however, never begged anyone to salvage his dignity; he knew full well that no human being possesses the power to destroy it. His dignity remains entirely intact, irrespective of the doomsayers who have tried by all means to ruin him.
The ANC tried when he left the party to form the EFF, and they failed dismally. The current EFF cult—colloquially known as the Mafinyila cult—tried everything to blacken his name, and they too failed dismally. Lately, the MKP and Nomvalo have done everything within their power to destroy his dignity, and they have also failed dismally. Floyd is still standing despite all the weapons formed against him, and he is leading a movement that leaves his detractors suffering from non-stop anxiety and hallucinations. Right now, only the Afrika Mayibuye Movement’s election placards are being targeted for removal, yet Floyd is not crying foul. Nomvalo, by contrast, is simply a coward and a crybaby.

Public memory remains clear regarding Sibonelo Nomvalo’s insults toward Floyd following the latter's dismissal as MKP Secretary-General. Nomvalo openly celebrated his appointment to the vacancy and belittled Floyd. However, now that the political fortunes have reversed, Nomvalo has resorted to public grievances. In contrast, the individual he previously disparaged now serves as the President of a rapidly growing movement, successfully leading Afrika Mayibuye.
Those ignorant people who undermine the Afrika Mayibuye Movement will learn a hard lesson come the 4th of November. They will wake up in hospitals the following day, not knowing how they happened to be there, hallucinating and thinking that the 4th of November has not yet arrived. The Afrika Mayibuye Movement is going to introduce painful changes to the political arena. Watch this space.
