There are a lot of people doing something that works without completely understanding why it works. I didn't realize this as a kid. I thought that to do something well you had to understand what you were doing. But in practice hardly anyone understands completely.
Just popped on here for a moment.
I have a little blue birdy still.
Anyone got an X or is it just me? ๐๐คฃ

I was laid off from Twitter today. I was the designer in charge of our new rebranding to X.
I learned so much in my 2.5 weeks at the company but Iโm excited to see where I land next.
If youโre hiring a self taught, junior designer please DM me. Graphic design is my passion!

This tweet, while an obvious joke, was stolen from a different account and edited slightly to appear as if it were the authorโs own attempt at humor. The original poster directly addresses the act.

This is my default position and I think itโs a useful assumption - because even if there is a slim chance itโs true (and we may well never know) then it should focus our collective minds on the task in hand - which is to avoid fucking it up.
I stand with @ProfBrianCox ๐
Iโm advised that I shouldnโt say what I really think about this because one has to treat politicians who behave in this manner as difficult children and allow them to grandstand. But I will say that almost everyone I speak to has run out of patience. on.ft.com/3OiFxWG

Oh and the comments about family members tooโฆ.๐๐คฃ
Your company isnโt your family. You donโt fire family for bad performance.
The more apt analogy: a professional football team.
Thereโs alignment towards a shared vision.
Thereโs camaraderie among players.
There are subcultures within the organization (offensive line, special teams).
Underperformers are cut from the org even if they built close relationships with other players.
The CEO is the head coach.
The CRO is the offensive coordinator.
The COO/CFO is the defensive coordinator.

It's very hard to know how to react to a 0.5% increase in rates at this time. Clearly we must tackle inflation, but this one trick method is causing huge pain to many on variable & coming off fixed rate mortgages
We need to at least ensure the gain is passed on to savers.
Jon Stanners ๐ถ๐ผ๐ญ retweeted
The facts banks are only fully passing rate rises on to borrowers not savers is counterproductive and profiteering. Encouraging saving, takes money out of the economy to help inflation too. Govt should be pushing hard to ensure banks don't just increase margins
Fascinating insight and scary reality.
Brexit slowing up labour mobility and increasing supply chain challenges. Price increases to fossil fuels particularly gas and our desire for ever cheaper goods means inflation is high and it looks like it could be to staying around.

Why is Britain facing higher inflation than any other G7 member?
How did the @bankofengland get so far behind the curve?
Why will UK households end up facing higher interest rates than anyone expected a few years ago?
Best place to begin: cucumbers.
Yes, really: cucumbers
