It's wild how much of American politics in the past 10 - 15 years have boiled down to "we need to let this septuagenarian have their moment to shine even though they've been bad at their job for 50 years"
Let’s break this down logically.
Schumer knows these are his last two years in office. If you know anything about him, you’d know that he would want to end his career on his own terms and go out on top.
He knows that if he ran again, he would lose renomination. Which is why I — and essentially everyone that works in Democratic politics in New York across the ideological spectrum — would be absolutely stunned if he runs for re-election.
So why would someone launching a primary campaign against him before January change his plans to run for majority leader?
He likely views these last two years as majority leader as his swan song.

Not to get too political, but do any red states have BBQ that competes with blue states?

Voters want $8 sandwiches back, expect $8 sandwiches to come back within 2 years, and will punish whoever is in charge when they don't come back in 2 years. It's just how it is.

31% - Donald Trump's approval rating.
18% - Hakeem Jeffries' approval rating.
13% - Chuck Schumer's approval rating.
The Democratic Party is suicidal if they pick Jeffries and Schumer to lead the House and Senate.
The #Bluekakke is crazy bc you got JD Vance and DeSantis suddenly remembering they have Ivy League degrees and speaking accordingly and also democrats fully embracing DarkWoke thought.

Blue Wave smacked Republicans so hard DeSantis dropped the act and started talking like a guy who went to Yale and got a JD from Harvard again.
Ron DeSantis explains why the GOP "screaming socialism" doesn't work anymore:
"Young people have a very positive view of socialism compared to capitalism. The question is, why is that? Some of it is the education in our universities. But I think a big part of that is, what they're comparing is not free enterprise versus socialism. What they're comparing is how government gets involved in business, and you have crony capitalism. The best kind of indirect supporters of socialism are some of these corporatist republicans who propagate these crony policies. The average person is seeing that and saying, 'Wait a minute, you're trying to bend the government to funnel benefits to this corporation or that industry. What about having a competitive market? ... Young people really aren't seeing that. They're seeing just a handful of companies that have an outsized influence on our economy and on our society"
That’s why they play the game on the field and not the spreadsheet. #Scoreboard
It's just not probable. Texas was stolen!

The post's calculation assumes 2.9 million voters all chose one candidate. In the 2026 Texas general election, about 9.9 million ballots were cast, with Democrats winning the Senate race 55.1% to 43.0% and Governor 52.8% to 45.7%. Both Republican candidates conceded. txelectionresults.com/2026-general-e… viewfromthegallery.com/breakdown/texa…

This orchestra leader highlighted Haley Stevens for Michigan and Janet Mills for Maine, so maybe it's time for a new leader.

I agree, every national Democrat should pivot themselves to Talarico’s positions immediately.
